Four footer links still use the old insecure address
Why it matters
Four of the five links in the footer's Quick Links column still begin with http:// rather than https://. The footer sits on every page, so this is live on all 138 of them.
Nothing is broken — the site quietly forwards each click on to the correct secure page. But that forwarding costs two extra steps before anything appears, on every click, and search engines treat a link that has to be redirected as worth less than one that goes straight there.
The simplest fix is to drop the domain altogether and write just the path. A link written as /visitor-registration/ always lands on the right page and cannot fall out of date.
Where to change it
Strapi → Global / Footer → the Quick Links column
| Link text | Currently | Change it to |
|---|---|---|
| Visitor Registration | /visitor-registration/ | |
| Become an Exhibitor | /exhibitor-enquiry/ | |
| Subscribe to Newsletter | /newsletter/ | |
| Download the Post Show Report | /download-post-show-report/ |
Leave the fifth one alone. Download the app, in the same column, is already written correctly and needs no change.
The LinkedIn icon has the same problem. In the Follow Us on column the LinkedIn icon points at http://linkedin.com/company/yugagroexpo. It works, but it is worth changing to https://www.linkedin.com/company/yugagroexpo while you are in the record. The YouTube icon beside it is already correct.
Verified. We followed all four links on the live site on 19 August. Each one reaches the right page, after two redirects on the way.
