182 pages are sharing one sentence

Google shows a short description under every link. When a page has none of its own, the site falls back to the homepage’s. Right now 182 of the site’s 298 pages are all advertising the same sentence about 15–18 September — every partner page, every photo gallery, What’s On, Sponsorship Opportunities, Explore Moscow and 87 articles among them. It is correct on the homepage and on nothing else. The 87 articles are ours to fix: each already carries a summary in Strapi that the site is not using. The other 94 are yours, and the list further down starts with the ones that matter most.

Sixteen pages tell Google their real address is somewhere else

Fix in Strapi 16 pages

Why it matters

Every page can carry a canonical address — a line, invisible to visitors, that tells Google “this is the official copy of this page; list that address, not this one”. It is meant for the rare case where one page exists at two addresses. On these sixteen records the field still holds the address the page had before the site was restructured, under /exhibit/sectors/….

Fourteen of those old addresses no longer exist — they answer “page not found” — so thirteen sector pages and the Articles index are telling Google that their official copy is a page that is not there. The other two point at an address that simply forwards back to the page itself, a loop. Either way Google is given a reason to drop the page from its results, and the sector pages are exactly the ones a buyer searching for “halal food exhibition Moscow” should land on.

The fix is to clear the field on each of the sixteen records and leave it empty: the site then fills in the page’s own address automatically. Fish and Seafood, Non-Food and Oils, Fats and Sauces are already right and need nothing.

Where to change it

Strapi → Sectors → the sector record → SEO → Canonical URL (canonicalURL); and Pages → Articles, Product Sectors, Why Exhibit → the same field

PageCanonical field currentlyWhat is at that address
/sectors/alcoholic-drinks//exhibit/sectors/alcoholic-drinks/Page not found
/sectors/canned-food//exhibit/sectors/canned-food/Page not found
/sectors/confectionary-and-bakery//exhibit/sectors/confectionary-and-bakery/Page not found
/sectors/dairy-products-and-cheese//exhibit/sectors/dairy-products-and-cheese/Page not found
/sectors/frozen-products-convenience-and-ready-to-eat-food//exhibit/sectors/frozen-products-convenience-and-ready-to-eat-food/Page not found
/sectors/fruits-and-vegetables//exhibit/sectors/fruits-and-vegetables/Page not found
/sectors/grocery//exhibit/sectors/grocery/Page not found
/sectors/halal//exhibit/sectors/halal/Page not found
/sectors/ingredients//exhibit/sectors/ingredients/Page not found
/sectors/meat-poultry-and-eggs//exhibit/sectors/meat-poultry-and-eggs/Page not found
/sectors/organic-and-healthy-food//exhibit/sectors/organic-and-healthy-food/Page not found
/sectors/soft-drinks//exhibit/sectors/soft-drinks/Page not found
/sectors/tea-coffee-and-cocoa//exhibit/sectors/tea-coffee-and-cocoa/Page not found
/articles//articles-and-reports/Page not found
/sectors//exhibit/sectors/Forwards straight back to /sectors/
/why-exhibit//exhibit/why-exhibit/Forwards straight back to /why-exhibit/

Do this one first. The forwards suggested two items down send the old sector addresses on to the new ones. Add them only after these fields are cleared — while a page still names the old address as its official copy, forwarding that address back to the page sends Google round in a circle.

Verified. On 25 August every page in the table declared the address in the middle column. Each of the fourteen “page not found” addresses was requested individually and returned an error page; the two forwarding ones went straight back to the page they came from.

The site still tells Google — and visitors — that the show is in 2025

Fix in Strapi every page

Why it matters

Alongside the visible page, the site hands Google a short machine-readable summary of the event — its name, dates and venue. It is what lets a search result show the dates under your link, or list you when somebody searches for food exhibitions in Moscow in September. On every one of the 298 pages that summary currently reads WorldFood Expo 2025, 16–19 September 2025. The header bar on those same pages says 15–18 September 2026, so Google is being told two different things, and the one built for it is last year’s.

The same slip runs through the visible site. Five page titles — the blue line in a Google result — still name the 2025 show; the FAQ block at the foot of all sixteen sector pages answers “WorldFood Moscow 2025 will be held from September 16–19”; the conference programme dates its four stages 16–19 September 2025. A buyer who reads any of these and checks the calendar will assume the page is out of date, and may assume the same about the event.

The event summary is one field on the Homepage record: change the name to WorldFood Moscow 2026 and the two dates to 2026-09-15 and 2026-09-18, and leave the rest — the venue is already right. The others are ordinary edits on the pages listed.

Leave the past alone. Mentions of 2025 as history are fine and should stay — the 2025 statistics on About Us, “150+ speakers did in 2025” on the homepage, the exhibitor feedback from the 2025 edition, the galleries and the news archive. This list is only the places that describe the coming show as 2025.

The sector FAQ. The same FAQ block appears on all sixteen sector pages, word for word, but it is stored separately on each: in Strapi → Sectors → the sector record, it is the second accordion-style section, the one whose items are the six questions. The dates sit in the answer to What are the exhibition dates and venue?. Sixteen edits, unfortunately — unless you would rather we moved the block to one shared record, which is ours to do; say so and we will.

While you are in the event summary. Google also recommends two lines the summary does not yet have — an offers entry pointing at /visitor-registration/, and a performer. Neither is required. Tell us if you would like the whole block drafted with the 2026 details and both lines added.

Verified. Read from the live pages on 25 August: the event summary on all 298 pages carries the 2025 name and dates, and every sentence quoted above is on the page named.

Placeholder text is live on three pages, and a fourth is a stub

Fix in Strapi 4 pages

Why it matters

Lorem ipsum is the Latin filler a layout uses before the real words arrive. It is live, in public view and listed in Google, on What’s On → Agenda and What’s On → Speakers — both open with “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur. Facilisi accumsan ac quisque…” — and on the Official Support page, where it is the page’s description: the grey text under the link in a Google result, on the page that lists the ministries backing the show.

The Help page (/help/faq/) is a fourth case: three banner slides titled Sea Food, Tea & Coffee and Oils, one of them captioned “Some description here”, then a single paragraph. It reads as a page that was started and not finished.

Replace the text with the real copy, or take the pages out of view until it is ready — unpublish them, or tick noIndex in their SEO settings so that Google stops listing them.

Verified. All four pages read as described on 25 August, and all four are open to Google.

Ten pages are open to Google that should not be

Fix in Strapi 10 pages

Why it matters

Five of these are test pages — Test, a second Test under Exhibit, a grocery test whose headline reads “gshk;iuk”, a NeverBounce test and a demo copy of the Partners & Sponsors page. Four are the thank-you screens a form shows after it is sent. One is the reference page of design samples the site was built from, still carrying Lorem ipsum. All ten are published, listed in your sitemap — the file that invites Google to index a page — and can be found and read by anyone.

Unpublishing removes a page from the site and the sitemap in one step. Where a page has to stay, ticking noIndex in its SEO settings tells Google not to list it and drops it from the sitemap automatically. Neither needs a developer.

28 article links point at the old sector addresses

Fix in Strapi 28 links · 26 articles

Why it matters

The sector pages used to live under /exhibit/sectors/…; they are now at /sectors/…. Twenty-six articles still link to the old addresses — mostly the words “health food exhibition” or “organic and healthy food” in a closing paragraph — and every one of those links lands the reader on “page not found”. The old sector addresses are also the ones Google indexed first, and the ones older bookmarks and partner sites still use.

The quickest fix is thirteen entries in the Redirects list, one per sector, written the way the existing entries are: Source exhibit/sectors/alcoholic-drinks, Destination sectors/alcoholic-drinks. That repairs all 28 links at once and catches every old bookmark too. Do it after clearing the canonical fields in the first item. Then correct the link itself whenever an article is next edited — the table gives you each one.

Two existing forwards are broken too. While you are in the Redirects list: the entry for fruits-and-vegetables sends people to sectors/fruits-and-vegetable — one letter short, so it lands on “page not found” — and exhibiting-enquiry sends them to exhibitor-enquiry, which does not exist; the page is exhibit-enquiry. Correct both destinations.

One link may mean something else. In From Farm to Fork the words exhibit visitor registration point at the organic sector like the others. If they were meant to lead to the registration page, link /visitor-registration/ instead.

Verified. Every old address in the table was requested on 25 August and returned an error page; every replacement loads. The two broken forwards were followed to their “not found” pages, and the existing Redirects records were read back from Strapi.

Eight more links inside the site lead to a page that does not exist

Fix in Strapi 8 links · 4 pages

Why it matters

Each of these can be clicked today, and each lands the reader on “page not found”.

Six of the eight are one mistake made twice: the Cashew Info and Sesame Info partner pages link three websites written as www.cashewinformation.com and so on, without https:// in front. Written that way a browser treats the address as a page inside your own site, looks for it under the partner page and finds nothing. The e-mail address in the free-ticket article has the same problem — it is linked as if it were a page — and the Explore More button on Explore Moscow points at a /travel-guide/ page that was never built.

Seven links to other websites no longer work

Fix in Strapi 7 links · 44 pages

Why it matters

These point at other organisations’ websites, and the pages behind them have since gone. The one that matters most is Y&H Cargo: its logo sits in the sponsor strip on 38 pages, with a Learn More on the Official Support page and a Visit Site on its own partner page — and the website behind all of them, yhcargoindia.com, no longer answers at all. Every click on that logo, on 40 pages, ends in a browser error.

Three are hotel booking buttons on Plan Your Travel, which is the page a visitor reads while planning a trip; one is a mistyped address for your own Woodex site; two are in older articles.

Where to change it

Links that looked dead but are fine. A few websites refuse automated visitors and so failed our checker — the Hilton and Radisson booking pages, the Penta Hotels reservation page, ResearchGate, ScienceDirect, Grand View Research, the University of Michigan, the Cambridge Dictionary and the ITE exhibitor catalogue. All open normally for a person in a browser, so none of them is listed. One small thing while you are in that article: the exhibitor-catalogue link in world-food-article-11 is written with http:// — change it to https://.

The same hotels are on your other sites. Plan Your Travel on woodexexpo.com, weldexexpo.com, cifraexpo.com and electronicaexpo.com carries the same Accor and Seligerskaya buttons, and their reports list them too. Each site has its own record in Strapi, so the edit needs making on each.

Verified. Each address was requested on 25 August: the Accor pages answer “gone”, the Seligerskaya page and the PDF “not found”; woodexpo.com and the UC Davis address no longer resolve at all; and yhcargoindia.com was opened in a real browser as well as by our checker, and fails to load in both.

Four sponsor logos and one button are clickable but go nowhere

Fix in Strapi 5 links · 44 pages

Why it matters

Four records in the Partners list — the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region and the Moscow Government — have a single # character in their Link field, a placeholder somebody typed to fill the box. The site treats it as a real address: their four logos in the sponsor strip on 38 pages open a new tab showing the same page again, and the Learn More buttons on the Official Support page and the Visit Site buttons on their four partner pages do the same.

Fill in each organisation’s website, or clear the field. An empty field is the right way to say “no website” — and we are changing the site so that a logo without a link is simply not clickable.

The Download the Exhibitor Guide button on the Exhibit page has the same # in place of a file: it looks like a download and does nothing. Attach the guide, or remove the button until it is ready.

Where to change it

Strapi → Partners → the four records below → Link; Pages → Exhibit → the Download the Exhibitor Guide button

Verified. On 25 August the four logos carried # on all 38 pages that show the sponsor strip, on the Official Support page and on the four partner pages; the Exhibit page button likewise.

The footer’s Visitor Registration link takes a detour on every page

Fix in Strapi 4 links · 298 pages

Why it matters

In the footer record the Visitor Registration address is written as /visitor-registration — without the closing slash. The page lives at /visitor-registration/, so every click is first answered with “moved” and then sent on. Visitors see a fraction of a second’s delay; search engines count a link that has to be forwarded as worth less than one that goes straight there — and this is the footer’s main call to action, on all 298 pages.

Add the closing slash. Three links in page content have the same kind of slip.

Optional, when you are next in those pages. About twenty buttons still point at the site’s old addresses — /exhibit/sectors/, /exhibit/why-exhibit/ and /exhibit/i-am-an-exhibitor/ — and forward from there: View More Sectors, Learn How and Explore All Benefits on the homepage, Explore Our Sectors and Reasons to Exhibit on About Us, the sector and benefits buttons on Exhibit, Why Visit and Why Exhibit, Freight, Handling & Customs on Plan Your Travel, and a dozen article links. They work; each just costs a step. Point them straight at /sectors/, /why-exhibit/ and /exhibit-enquiry/ as you edit those pages.

Three wording slips, one of them on every page

Fix in Strapi 3 edits

Why it matters

The header bar on all 298 pages reads “Moscow, Crocus Expo, Pavillion 3” — Pavilion has one l. It is the first line every visitor reads, and the footer and the event summary on the same pages spell it correctly.

The Explore Moscow page welcomes the visitor “whether you’re here for MITT or exploring beyond” — MITT is your travel exhibition; the guide was copied across from that site and the name was not changed. And the Organiser page describes ITE as “one of the leading B2B event orgaisers in Eurasia”.

Where to change it

Strapi → NavBar → NavText → Text2; Pages → Explore Moscow and Organiser

The Organiser page may not need it. It is one of the twin pages in the decision further down. If you unpublish it, the third edit is moot.

94 pages need a description of their own

Fix in Strapi 94 pages

Why it matters

The description is the grey text under your link in a Google result. It is the sentence that decides whether somebody clicks you or a competitor, and it is the only part of a search result you write yourself.

181 pages have none, so they fall back to the homepage’s sentence about 15–18 September. 87 of them are articles, and those are ours: each article already carries a summary in Strapi that the site is not using, and we are fixing that. The other 94 are yours — 25 site pages to write now, 2 more once Agenda and Speakers have real content, the 28 partner pages and the 26 photo galleries; the remaining 13 are the ten pages being hidden above, the Help page and the two twins, which wait on those decisions. Somebody searching for the WorldFood conference programme or for sponsorship currently reads a line that mentions neither.

The suggested wording below was written from what is on each page. It is a starting point, not a decision about how you want to sound — please read each one before you use it.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page, partner or gallery record → SEO → Meta Description

/about/organiser/ — only if you keep it
ITE Group organises WorldFood Moscow and more than 30 of Eurasia’s largest industry events every year, and has since 1991. Who we are and what we do.

The 26 galleries follow one pattern. Photos from WorldFood Moscow 2024 — the exhibition floor, stands and visitors at Crocus Expo, Moscow. Change the year for each, and swap the subject for the Product of the Year awards, the Business Leaders Forum, the cooking show or the conference programme on those pages.

The 28 partner pages need one sentence each. Each is a logo and a paragraph, so a single line saying who the partner is and what they do for the show is enough. Their titles are the bare name too — 1C, Halalrc, Spicos — so a title such as 1C | Partner of WorldFood Moscow fixes both at once.

Write in the page’s language. The Turkish, Portuguese, Korean and Russian pages above have their suggestions in that language; keep it that way — it is the language their readers search in.

Twelve page titles are working labels, and two articles share one

Fix in Strapi 13 pages

Why it matters

The title is the blue clickable line in a Google result and the name on the browser tab. Twelve pages carry the one-word label they were built under — Help, Organiser, Agenda, Whats On — which tells a searcher nothing about the event and does not even say WorldFood. Five more titles name last year’s show; they are in the 2025 item above.

The article “Boost Sales or Build a Brand” has a copied SEO block: its title and description are those of “Beyond Price Points: How Texture and Aftertaste Influence Repeat Orders”, so Google sees the same article twice and shows the wrong summary for one of them.

The suggested titles below are a starting point; edit them freely.

Two more of the same shape. Brazilian Exhibitors and South Korean Exhibitors are plain labels too and deserve the same treatment — in Portuguese and Korean, since those pages are written in those languages.

The copied article needs its own description as well. Its Meta Description is the other article’s too — “Discover how food texture, mouthfeel, and aftertaste influence…”. One sentence about what Boost Sales or Build a Brand actually argues.

594 images are heavier than they need to be

Fix in Strapi 594 images · 111 MB

Why it matters

Four in ten of the images on the site are heavier than 100 kB — 111 MB between them. Every visitor downloads these at full size, including anyone on a phone on mobile data, and Google counts page speed when it decides where to rank you.

The heaviest single file is a 3.3 MB night photograph of the Moskva river on Explore Moscow; the next five, at 1.1–2.2 MB each, are the header photographs of five articles. Two 900 kB banners sit on the homepage itself. But most of the weight is in the photo galleries: 439 of the 594 files — 76 MB — are gallery photographs uploaded straight from the camera.

The site cannot shrink these by itself, so this is a re-upload in the Media Library rather than anything a developer can do. A free tool such as tinypng.com or squoosh.app does it well: aim for under about 200 kB for a large photograph, and much less for a logo.

Start with the homepage. The two banners on the homepage are the quickest win — 1.8 MB off your busiest page for two re-uploads. The Explore Moscow photograph is next.

Then the galleries. The 26 gallery pages hold 439 of the files. Re-saving a gallery’s photographs at around 1600 pixels wide before upload typically cuts them to a tenth of the size with no visible difference on screen. The full list of the 594 files is available on request.

Where the number comes from. We measured every image the crawl found across all 298 pages: 594 files above 100 kB, 111 MB between them.

Two pages exist twice — tell us which to keep

We need a decision Decision

Why it matters

About ITE (/about-ite/) and Organiser (/about/organiser/) are the same page under two addresses: both headed About ITE Group, both describing the company. Visitor Registration (/visitor-registration/) and New Visitor Registration (/visitor-registration-new/) are the same again — the same headline and the same registration form. In each pair Google has to guess which is the real one, and tends to split the credit between them.

Only the first of each pair has a title and description of its own; the second is among the pages borrowing the homepage’s sentence, and the Organiser page carries the “orgaisers” typo. Unpublish the copy, and we will forward its address to the page you keep so that no existing link breaks.

Where to change it

Please run one test registration

We need a decision 8 pages

Why it matters

The visitor-registration form on Visitor Registration and on the six country pages — Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan — is supplied by the registration provider and embedded into the page. On every one of those pages it reports two errors as it loads: one of its own files fails to run, and its stylesheet is refused by the server it lives on. The first screen still appears — the e-mail field and a Next button — but we stopped there rather than register a test visitor on your live system.

If a registration completes, both errors are the provider’s to tidy and nothing is lost. If it stalls after Next, visitor registration is down on eight pages, and the provider needs to hear today. Both errors sit in the provider’s code, not in anything we or your team can edit.

Where to change it

The pop-up tool has never worked on this address

We need a decision Decision

Why it matters

Every page on the site loads a pop-up tool — the kind used for newsletter sign-up boxes and exit-intent offers. On this site it has never displayed anything, because expoworldfood.com is not registered against the account the tool belongs to: on every page load the tool’s service answers that the site is unknown, and the request fails. Two fifths of the flags our browser check raised on this site were that one failure, repeated on all 297 pages.

Visitors see nothing either way; there is no broken box on screen. The cost is a little speed on every page and a quiet error in the background — and no pop-ups, if pop-ups were the plan.

The choice is a business one, not a technical one. If the pop-ups are wanted, the address needs registering in that account and they will start appearing. If they are not, we remove the tool and every page gets slightly faster.

Where to change it

Tell us to register the domain or to remove the tool

What we need from you. Whether the pop-ups are still part of the plan. If yes, someone with access to that account registers expoworldfood.com and we check it starts working. If no, we take the tool out — that is a change on our side and needs nothing from your team.

It is the same on your other sites. The same tool is loaded, and equally inactive, across the other ITE sites we look after — the Weldex and ExpoCifra reports asked the same question. Whichever way this goes it is worth settling once for all of them rather than site by site.

If you have time

Worth doing, not urgent

None of these is a problem. They are the difference between a site that is correct and one that is polished.

On phones, the three sign-up cards hide their text until tapped

The Become an Exhibitor, Visitor and Speaker cards on the homepage, Why Exhibit and the Exhibitor Resource Centre show their description and button only when the mouse hovers over them. A phone has no hover, so the text appears only after a tap on the card. It is a design choice — tell us if you would like the text always visible on phones, and we will make the change.

28 partner pages that nothing links to

Each partner has a page of its own — a logo and a paragraph — but the sponsor logos link to the partner’s own website, never to that page, so the only way to reach them is through the sitemap. Either the logos should point at them, or they should be hidden from Google. Your call; tell us which.

47 article headlines are cut off in Google

Google shows roughly the first 60 characters of a title and trims the rest mid-sentence; 47 article titles run past that. When writing future headlines, put the point in the first 60 characters — each article also has a separate Meta Title field if you want a search-only short version.

The six country pages read as copies of each other

Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan share one text with the country name swapped, so Google struggles to tell them apart. A paragraph specific to each market — what its buyers come for — would let each one rank on its own.

One article has two main headings

In “Visitor Demographics and Business Impact of WorldFood Moscow” the subtitle “A Deep Dive into the Profiles and Activities of Attendees…” is set as Heading 1, the same level as the title. Change it to Heading 2 — a page should have one main heading.

Five short news items

The five “… supports the WorldFood Moscow 2026 exhibition” articles are 120–170 words. Fine as news; a paragraph on what the partnership means for exhibitors would give readers and search engines more to go on.

A proofread of the most-visited pages

The crawler flagged possible spelling errors on nearly every page; on inspection they are overwhelmingly brand names and transliterations rather than mistakes — the real ones it caught are in the wording item above, and What’s On is missing its apostrophe in the page title and heading. A human proofread of the homepage and the What’s On pages would catch the few a tool cannot judge.

What we are already fixing

What happens now

Clear the sixteen canonical fields today

Sixteen fields to empty, in the Sectors and Pages records. It is the one change that stops Google dropping your sector pages, and it takes ten minutes. Then add the thirteen forwards in Redirects and correct the two broken ones.

Then the 2025 dates, the placeholder pages and the links

The event summary for Google is one field on the Homepage record; the placeholder and test pages are a tick box each; the dead and detouring links are quick swaps or deletions. The 94 descriptions are the biggest win for how the site looks in search — the 26 drafted ones get you started, and the galleries and partner pages follow a pattern.

Read the suggested wording before you use it

Every title and description we have drafted is a starting point, written from what is on the page, not from your marketing plan. Change anything that does not sound like you.

Answer the three decisions

Which twin page to keep, whether a test registration goes through, and whether the pop-up tool stays. Reply to this report and we will action them.

We re-run the check

Once you have published your changes we run the same review again and send you a short before-and-after. No need to tell us when — just say the word.

Every item in this report was checked by hand against the live site on 25 August 2026. 297 pages were loaded one by one in a real browser, a separate search-engine crawl fetched 325 addresses covering all 298 in your sitemap, and all 298 pages were read again for the counts quoted here — the shared description, the sponsor logos, the event summary, the header text. Every dead link named was requested individually along with each suggested replacement, the Y&H Cargo site was opened in a real browser as well, and the Redirects and header records were read back from Strapi. Findings the scans flagged that turned out to be fine have been left out rather than passed on — including eleven “mobile menu” failures that were our checker failing to find the menu button (it opens on every page we tried), two dozen “overlapping text” flags that were the cookie bar and the phone-number field measured wrongly, and eleven links to other websites that refuse automated visitors but open normally for a person. Each page was loaded once, so this review found what it found; it is not a guarantee that nothing else is wrong. Suggested wording is a starting point: please read it over before publishing, and change anything that does not match how you talk about the event.
