The three newest articles are telling Google to ignore them
Why it matters
Each article’s SEO settings hold a “canonical URL”: the address Google is told is the real one. On these three, that field still holds the article’s old address. The old address now just forwards visitors back to the new article, so Google is sent round in a circle and will most likely list neither.
This is the most urgent item in the report and takes about five minutes. Clear the field on each article and leave it empty; the site then uses the article’s own address.
One forwarding rule also leads nowhere. In Redirects, the rule for articles/h2-2024-s-10-key-insights-from-the-russian-timber-industry sends visitors to articles/2025-s-10-key-insights-from-the-russian-timber-industry, which does not exist. Anyone following an old link or bookmark lands on “page not found”.
Where to change it
Strapi → Articles → the article → SEO → Canonical URL; and Strapi → Redirects for the forwarding rule
| Article | Canonical URL field currently says | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Logging Machines 2026: Sustainable Harvesting and Forest Technology Innovations | Clear the field | |
| What to expect for the Russian furniture market in 2026? | Clear the field | |
| 2025’s 10 Key Insights From the Russian Timber Industry | Clear the field |
The forwarding rule. Change the destination to articles/2025-s-10-key-insights-from-the-russian-timber-industry-1. The article’s real address ends in -1.
For next time. When an article is renamed by copying it, clear the canonical field on the copy. We are also adding a safeguard on our side, listed under what we are handling.
