The footer’s four quick links are still broken on every page except the homepage

Fix in Strapi 4 links · every page except the homepage

Why it matters

This was in the 25 August report and is still open. Become an Exhibitor, Visitor Registration, Download the post-show report and Download event brochure sit in the footer of every page, and their addresses are typed without the “/” at the front. Written that way, a browser treats each one as a page inside whatever page the visitor is on. From the homepage that happens to work. From anywhere else it does not: a visitor on About ITE who clicks Visitor Registration is sent to /about-ite/visitor-registration/, which does not exist, and lands on a “page not found”. We confirmed on 5 October that this still happens.

With the show opening on 6 October, these are the calls to action that matter most. The fix is four edits in one record, a few minutes of work, and it is the first thing to do.

Where to change it

Strapi → Footer → the text column that holds the four quick links

/visitor-registration/

/event-brochure/

Then remove the twelve temporary forwards. The Redirects list in Strapi holds twelve records whose address begins contact-us/ or articles/…/ and ends exhibit-enquiry, visitor-registration or visa. They were added to patch a few of these broken addresses by hand. Once the four links are fixed they do nothing useful, so delete them. Leave articles-and-reports, exhibitor-list and latest-articles alone; they are real.

2

A pasted-in statistics strip breaks three articles on phones

Fix in Strapi 3 articles

Why it matters

Each of these articles has a strip of icons and figures (“196 participants · 8,004 visitors · 19 countries · 76 regions of Russia”, and in one article “82 Speakers”) that was copied in from another website. On a computer it looks fine. On a phone the round icons sit on top of the numbers and labels, the last figure is cut off at the right edge, and the whole page scrolls sideways. That pushes the menu button partly off the screen, so a visitor has to drag the page across to open the menu.

Two of the three are Weldex 2026 promotion, so visitors arriving from the show campaign on a phone will see this.

The fix is the same in each article: delete the pasted block and retype the four or five figures as a short bulleted list, or upload them as a single image.

Where to change it

3

A partner link that appears on 44 pages is dead

Fix in Strapi 1 partner · 44 pages

Why it matters

The “Logistics Partner & Sponsors” strip sits near the bottom of 44 pages, so one broken link shows up everywhere. The partner Alliance of Welders links to alians-weld.ru, whose hosting has lapsed: it answers “payment required” instead of showing a site.

Remove the link from the partner entry and keep the logo, and do the same for the “View Website” button on the Partners and Sponsors page, until the partner has a working website again.

Where to change it

Strapi → the Alliance of Welders partner entry → its website link; and Partners and Sponsors → the Alliance of Welders “View Website” button

4

Five links inside the site lead to a missing page or take a detour

Fix in Strapi 5 links · 5 pages

Why it matters

Four of these land the reader on a “page not found” screen. Three are the same link in three articles: “hardware solutions” points at a fasteners sector page that this site does not have. Fasteners are covered by Fastenex, so the link should go to the Fastenex site. The fourth is a spelling: the American “center” in a link to the Exhibitor Resource Centre.

The fifth works but costs a step on your busiest page. The homepage’s “View more” button under the latest articles points at an old address that forwards on to /articles/.

Where to change it

Eleven links to other websites no longer work, including the hotel buttons on Plan Your Travel

Fix in Strapi 11 links

Why it matters

These point at other organisations’ websites, and the pages behind them have been removed or the whole website has gone. Four are the “Book your Stay” hotel buttons on Plan Your Travel, which is the page a visitor opens when planning the trip. Two are partner links on Partners and Sponsors, which is the page a prospective partner reads.

One has a known replacement. The rest need a person to find the current address, or to take the button or link off.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page or article named below → the link or button

Articles “Digest 3”, “Digest 8” and “Digest No.12”“Source” (metalinfo.ru, one link in each)The whole website has been down since at least August. Unlink the three words

Please look at these in a browser first. Two links did not answer our checker at all: ridjey.ru (“View Website” on Partners and Sponsors) and yhcargoindia.com (“View Website” on the Y&H Cargo page). The ITE exhibitor catalogue links on the homepage, Why Visit and Why Exhibit also blocked our checker. Click each once to confirm it opens, and only change it if it does not.

Links that looked dead but are fine. Several “Source” links (ISO, mos.ru, mosreg.ru, ResearchGate, elec.ru, Hilton and Radisson) block automated checkers but open normally in a browser. None is listed, and no action is needed.

Google has no event details for Weldex

Fix in Strapi every page

Why it matters

Alongside the visible page, a site can hand Google a short machine-readable summary of the event: its name, dates and venue. That is what lets a search result show the dates under your link, or list Weldex when somebody searches for exhibitions in Moscow in October. On Weldex that field is empty on the homepage and on every other page, so Google is working from the visible text alone.

Your Woodex site already carries a complete example. Copy the Event block from the Woodex homepage’s SEO settings into the same field on the Weldex homepage, then change the name to Weldex 2026, the dates to 6–9 October 2026 and the hall to Pavilion 1, Hall 4, Crocus Expo. Tell us if you would like it drafted for you.

Where to change it

Strapi → Homepage → SEO → JSON_LD

Which hall is right?. The site header says Pavilion 1, Hall 4 but the stats block on the homepage says Pavillion 3. Please confirm which is correct and fix the other one.

Timing. The homepage picks the summary up after the next site build. How quickly Google then shows it is up to Google, so do not count on it appearing in results before the show.

One field covers the site. We are making sure the pages that have their own SEO settings pick the summary up as well. That part is ours.

Eight test, demo and thank-you pages are public

Fix in Strapi 8 pages

Why it matters

These pages are published and listed in your sitemap, the file that invites Google to index a page, and some of them say “Test” or “Demo” to anyone who finds them. Unpublishing removes a page from the site and the sitemap in one step. Where a page has to stay, ticking noIndex in its SEO settings tells Google not to list it, and the sitemap drops it automatically at the next publish.

The four thank-you pages are the screens a form shows after it is sent. The other eight thank-you pages on the site already have noIndex ticked; these four were missed.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page record → unpublish, or SEO → tick noIndex

8

Three page titles to correct

Fix in Strapi 3 pages

Why it matters

The title is the blue clickable line in a Google result and the name on the browser tab. The homepage’s title never says “Weldex”, so someone searching for the event by name sees “Welding Expo - Leading Welding Technology Trade Show” and has to guess. The other two carry a typo.

The suggested titles are a starting point; edit them freely.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page record → SEO → Meta Title

PageCurrentlySuggested
/Welding Expo - Leading Welding Technology Trade Show

/media-gallery/professinal-contests-awarding-ceremony-2021/Professinal Contests Awarding Ceremony 2021
Professional Contests Awarding Ceremony 2021

Fix the gallery’s own title too. The “Professinal” typo is also in the gallery’s title, so correct it there as well as in the SEO title.

9

33 pages have a missing or placeholder description

Fix in Strapi 33 pages

Why it matters

The description is the grey text under your link in a Google result. It is the sentence that decides whether somebody clicks you or a competitor. Without one, Google picks a sentence from the page at random, often the cookie or form notice.

Six live pages have none, one says “Test” (the /about-fastenex/ page, which needs no description if you unpublish it as above), and all 26 Media Gallery pages say only “Weldex”, which gives a searcher nothing to go on.

The suggested wording is a starting point, written from what is on each page. Please read each one before you use it, because it goes out under Weldex’s name.

Where to change it

Pages: Strapi → the page record → SEO → Meta Description. Galleries: Strapi → Media Gallery → the gallery → Short Text

The 26 gallery pages follow one pattern. For example Photo highlights from Weldex 2024 — exhibition floor, stands and visitors at Crocus Expo, Moscow. Change the year for each, and swap the subject for the conference programme, awards ceremony, welding competition or master classes on those galleries. The word “Weldex” also shows as a stray line of text under each gallery’s heading, so replacing the Short Text fixes both.

Two clickable banners have no image description

Fix in Strapi 2 images · 3 places

Why it matters

Alternative text is a short written description of a picture. A screen reader reads it aloud to a blind visitor, and Google uses it to understand the image. When the picture is also a link, it is the only name the link has. The Compliance report banner (on the homepage and on Indian Exhibitors) and the Paceweld report banner (on the homepage) have none, so each link is announced as nameless.

The wording below is a starting point; change it if you prefer.

Four testimonials have a blank name

Fix in Strapi 4 records · 15 pages

Why it matters

The testimonial slider appears on all 11 sector pages and on the pages below, 15 in all. Four testimonials have only a blank space in the Name field, so the card shows the company and nothing above it. A quote with a person’s name behind it carries more weight with a prospective exhibitor.

Fill in who said it, with their role if you have it, or leave the field completely empty rather than a space. We are also making the page cope with a blank name, but only you can supply the names themselves.

Where to change it

Strapi → Testimonials → the record → Name

  • /about-weldex/
  • /why-exhibit/
  • /southkorean-exhibitors-en/
  • /southkorean-exhibitors-kr/

Plus all 11 sector pages. The sector pages carry the same slider and are not listed one by one.

One photo description is two spaces. On /about-weldex/ the testimonial photo’s own description in the Media Library is two blank spaces. If you are in the record anyway, clear it or write a real description.

515 images are heavier than they need to be

Fix in Strapi 515 images · 79 MB

Why it matters

These images are heavier than 100 kB, and every visitor downloads them at full size, including anyone on a phone on mobile data. Google counts page speed when it decides where to rank you. The site cannot shrink images by itself, so this is a re-upload in the Media Library rather than anything a developer can do.

A free tool such as tinypng.com or squoosh.app does it well: aim for under about 200 kB for a large photograph, and under 100 kB for a logo or badge. PNG photos and banners are the biggest wins, so re-export those as JPG or WebP. The list below is where to start.

Where to change it

Strapi → Media Library → replace the file with a compressed version

White text on the brand orange is hard to read for some visitors

We need a decision Decision

Why it matters

Your primary buttons use white text on the Weldex orange (#ff840f). Measured the way accessibility guidelines measure it, that pairing scores 2.45 to 1 against a recommended minimum of 4.5 to 1. It is readable for most people, but hard for anyone with low vision or a phone screen in sunlight, and it fails any accessibility audit. Orange text on white scores the same, and so do some faded small lines and the figures on the sector and form pages. It shows up on 47 of the 49 pages we tested this way.

Nothing is broken, and the site can stay as it is. Changing it would alter how the brand looks, so it is your call.

Where to change it

Tell us which option you prefer. The change itself is ours to make

OptionColourContrast
Keep the current orange with white text#ff840f2.45 to 1
Navy text on the same orange. The orange itself does not change#1425486.17 to 1

A third option. A darker orange used only for buttons and text would also pass, and it would fix orange text on white as well, which navy-on-orange does not. Tell us if you would like to see one and we will send a shade for you to approve.

What we need from you. Whether to change it and, if so, which option. If you would rather keep the current orange, no action is needed and we will leave it as it is.

The pop-up tool has no registered address on this site

We need a decision Decision

Why it matters

Every page on the site loads a pop-up tool, the kind used for newsletter sign-up boxes and exit-intent offers. It does not display anything, because weldexexpo.com is not registered against the account the tool belongs to. On every page load the tool’s service answers that the site could not be found. We saw this on every page tested and checked it again on 5 October.

Visitors see nothing either way; there is no broken box on screen. The cost is a little speed on every page and a quiet error in the background, and no pop-ups if pop-ups were the plan.

The choice is a business one. If the pop-ups are wanted, the address needs registering in that account. If they are not, we remove the tool and every page gets slightly faster.

Where to change it

Tell us to register the domain or to remove the tool

What we need from you. Whether the pop-ups are still part of the plan. If yes, someone with access to that account registers weldexexpo.com and we check it starts working. If no, we take the tool out. That is a change on our side and needs nothing from your team.

If you have time

Worth doing, not urgent

None of these is a problem. They are the difference between a site that is correct and one that is polished.

One article can never appear in Google

The article “Edge Processing Equipment: The Backbone of Flawless Weld Preparation” has its canonical field pointing at the Edge Processing sector page. That field tells Google “the real version of this page is over there”, so Google lists the sector page and never the article. If that is deliberate, fine; if not, clear the canonical field in the article’s SEO settings.

The Exhibitor List 2026 menu item shows a “Redirecting…” flash

It goes through an internal forwarding page before reaching the online exhibitor list. It works. Linking the menu item straight to the exhibitor list saves visitors the flash.

1,520 images have no written description

Most are Media Gallery photos and article images. Alternative text is read aloud by screen readers and is the only thing Google has to go on in image search. A big job, so do it gradually: start with new uploads, and the two banners in the list above.

Two articles have stray text in their links

In “Thermal Distortion in Heavy-Plate Welding” a link reads “htTTT”. In “Top Welding PPE Standards…” two ISO links end in “?utm_source=chatgpt.com”. Remove that ending next time you are in those articles.

A year-old wording on Why Exhibit

The link “View The 2024 Exhibitor List” on Why Exhibit is a year out of date. Update the wording when you are next in that page.

27 titles are cut off in Google

Google shows roughly the first 60 characters of a title and trims the rest. 27 titles, mostly articles, run past that, and 49 headlines run past 70 characters. For future articles, fill the SEO title with a shorter version and put the key words first. Seven descriptions run a few characters past 155 and get a “…”; trim them when you are next editing those pages.

About 50 page titles are very short

“About ITE”, “Webinar” and “Official Support” use a fraction of the space Google gives them. Adding the event name, for example “About ITE | Weldex 2026”, gives Google more to show.

“Read more” links on Plan Your Travel

Naming the destination (“Visa information”, “Exhibitor resource centre”) helps visitors and Google more than a bare “Read more”.

On our side

What we are handling

Found in the same review, but ours to put right. Since 25 August these have shipped: search engines can now follow the main menu’s drop-down links, no page borrows the homepage’s description any more, the About ITE link to Woodex is corrected, and the header that forces a secure connection is now sent by the hosting. The security certificate showed no problems in either check. In the browser pass every page loaded, none crashed, and the mobile menu opened on all 218. One correction to August: we described the wrong end dates on About ITE as a missing date in Strapi. It is the page not asking for the field, so nothing you edit can fix it, and that part is ours.

No action needed from your team

Every event card on the About ITE page prints the visitor’s own date as its end date. Today it reads “Start Date: Oct 6th, 2026 · End Date: Oct 5th, 2026”. The venue line never appears either, because the page does not ask Strapi for either field. The mismatch also makes the page redraw itself after loading

What happens now

Before the show opens on 6 October

Fix the four footer links first; it is a few minutes in one record. Then take the statistics strip out of the three articles, remove the Alliance of Welders link, and relink or remove the four hotel buttons on Plan Your Travel. Each of these is a short edit in Strapi, and each is what a visitor can meet during the show.

After the show, the rest of the list

The other links, the hidden pages, the event details, the titles, the descriptions and the image sizes can follow in the days after the show closes. None of them is something a visitor will trip over this week. Search results change on Google’s schedule, so these will not show up in search before the show anyway.

Read the suggested wording before you use it

Every title, description and image description we have drafted is a starting point, written from what is on the page, not from your marketing plan. Change anything that does not sound like you.

Two decisions from you

What to do about white text on the orange, and whether the pop-up tool stays or goes. Reply to this report with your answers and we will action both, or tell us to leave them as they are.

Our fixes need a new release of the site

The wrong end dates on About ITE, the long-address overflow and the accessibility labels are ours and need nothing from you. They go live with a new release of the site, not when you publish in Strapi.

We re-run the check

Once you have published your changes we run the same review again and send you a short before-and-after. No need to tell us when; just say the word.

This review was carried out on 2 October 2026, and it had two parts. 218 pages from your sitemap were loaded in a real browser and checked for layout and errors, with the internal /components/ page left out of the browser pass, and a search-engine crawl covered all 219 pages in the sitemap. Phone-sized checks and the mobile menu check covered every one of the 218 pages: the first 49 on 2 October and the remaining 169 when the work was finished and re-checked on 5 October. The accessibility check ran on 53 representative pages, so a shared part of the site such as the footer is reported once but applies wherever it appears. The browser check raised 797 individual flags. Each was looked at, and the real problems are in this report; things that turned out to be fine are left out rather than passed on, including gallery photographs reported as broken that were only slow to load, errors from outside services such as reCAPTCHA and a short outage at an analytics vendor, a wide table in one article that scrolls sideways on purpose, and links to other websites that refuse automated visitors but open normally for a person. Each page was loaded once, so this lists what we found, which is not the same as every page being free of problems. Suggested wording is a starting point — please read it over before publishing and change anything that does not sound like you.
