Twelve pages tell Google their real address is one that no longer exists

Fix in Strapi 12 pages · urgent

Why it matters

Every page has a setting called Canonical URL, and it has one job: to tell Google “this page is a duplicate, index that other address instead of this one.” Left empty, the site fills in the page’s own address, which is correct almost every time.

Several of your most important pages have moved to shorter addresses since August, for example from /exhibit/exhibitor-enquiry/ to /exhibitor-enquiry/. On these twelve pages the Canonical URL field still holds the old address. Nine of those old addresses now lead to page-not-found, and three forward straight back to the page that names them. Google can stop listing a page that says its real home is somewhere that does not exist.

The Exhibitor Enquiry page is one of the twelve. It is your main conversion page and the destination of the “Exhibit” button in the header on every page, so do that one first.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page or article named → SEO → Canonical URL — clear the field

PageCanonical URL field says todayWhat that address is
/exhibitor-enquiry//exhibit/exhibitor-enquiry/No longer exists
/why-exhibit//exhibit/why-exhibit/No longer exists

Article: What RosUpack Visitors Look For: How Product Interest Drives Exhibitor Valuethe article’s old, longer addressForwards straight back to this article

There is nothing to type in. The fix is to empty the box on each page and publish. The site then uses the page’s own address, which is correct.

The two sector pages are not new. Post-press solutions and Ready packaging and disposable cutlery were already in the 21 August report and are unchanged. Both are pages a buyer searching for those products would land on.

A habit worth adopting. Leave Canonical URL empty unless you deliberately want one page to point at a different page. Each of these was typed in by hand, was right on the day, and went wrong silently when the page moved. A Google spreadsheet address that was in this field on the Hangzhou Ruixue article in August no longer reaches Google, so that one is handled.

2

The old addresses lead to page-not-found — add redirects

Fix in Strapi 12 redirects

Why it matters

A redirect is an instruction that says “anyone who arrives at this old address, send them to that one.” The same list already sends /exhibit/sectors/ to /sectors/, so you have used it before.

Links inside articles, bookmarks and Google’s own records still use the old addresses, and every one of them lands on an error page today. That includes 25 “book a stand” and “exhibit enquiry” links on 23 pages, which are your conversion path. In August we named /exhibit/exhibitor-enquiry/ as the working address for those links; the page has since moved to /exhibitor-enquiry/.

Redirects fix every link at once, so you do not need to edit the articles one by one.

Where to change it

Please check two before pasting. Two live sectors could be what the /sectors/ros-upack-sector/ links were meant to reach: /sectors/packaging-machinery/ and /sectors/packaging-production-machinery/. We have suggested the first; whoever wrote those three articles will know which is right. The second 2025-reasons address is sent to the same 2027 article as the first; please confirm that is the right page.

Where the 25 “book a stand” links are. Three “Explore Designs” buttons on Exhibitor Resource Centre; the “전시 참가 문의” button on /packaging-sk/; “BOOK YOUR STAND” in Kleit expands production capacity and in the Alligator at RosUpack 2025 article; “BOOK A STAND”, “Reserve your stand”, “Reserve your booth”, “GET A CONSULTATION ON THE STAND” and “Submit an exhibit enquiry” in one article each; and “exhibit enquiry” in 14 more articles. The redirect repairs all of them; you only need to edit them if you also want the links themselves to carry the new address.

If you rename a page in future. Add the redirect from the old address in the same sitting. That is the step that was missed on these.

The “Why Exhibit - India” button goes nowhere

Fix in Strapi 1 button

Why it matters

On /why-exhibit/ the third country card has a button whose link is just “#”, which means clicking it does nothing at all. The two cards beside it lead to /brasilian-exhibitors/ and /packaging-sk/.

The live India page is /why-russia-indian-exhibitors/, which looks like the intended target. Please confirm and set the button’s link to it.

Where to change it

Strapi → Why Exhibit → the third country card → the button’s link

Three hotel booking buttons are wrong

Fix in Strapi 3 buttons

Why it matters

The first of these needs doing today. Anyone can buy a web address that has expired and put anything on it, and the Novotel Moscow City booking button points at one that is now listed for sale.

This is the page someone opens after they have decided to come to the show, so a button that fails here costs a room booking.

Where to change it

Strapi → Plan Your Travel → the hotel list → each hotel’s Book your Stay link

A partner logo is a link that goes nowhere — on 51 pages

Fix in Strapi 51 pages

Why it matters

August Borg’s logo appears in the partners strip on 51 pages, and the “Visit Website” button on /partners-and-sponsors/ belongs to the same record. The website field is empty, so clicking either just reloads the page. It was in the August report and is unchanged.

Fill in the partner’s website in that record’s Button → LinkTo field.

Where to change it

Strapi → Partners → August Borg → Button → LinkTo

Two others have been fixed. The two partner records that had no link in August, Portal Small business of Moscow and NKPak, now work. Thank you.

One more empty button, on a page being removed. The placeholder speaker page at /speakers/name/ carries a link labelled “button” that also goes nowhere. Unpublishing that page, in the item further down, removes it.

Four articles show only “RosUpack 2025” as their title

Fix in Strapi 4 articles

Why it matters

In a Google result these four articles all read RosUpack 2025, so a searcher cannot tell them apart and neither can Google. The headline on each page is fine; only the search title needs writing.

Two of them also carry a description that belongs to a different article: the IAPACK China article describes Belblankavyd, and the Belblankavyd article has a general “must-visit event” line.

Twenty-three photo galleries have no description, or just “Rosupack”

Fix in Strapi 16 empty · 7 say “Rosupack”

Why it matters

The description is the grey text under your link in a Google result. With none, Google invents one from whatever text it finds on the page, and on a photo page that is usually the navigation menu. Sixteen galleries have no description and seven have the single word “Rosupack”, which tells a searcher nothing.

Suggested wording for every one is below, with the year filled in each time. It is a starting point: please read it before publishing.

Two Printech form pages need a title and a description, and one a headline

Fix in Strapi 2 pages

Why it matters

These two forms are for Printech, the printing exhibition held alongside RosUpack. Both currently show a form-builder style title in Google, and neither has a description. The enquiry page also has an empty headline: the big title at the top of the page is blank.

Where to change it

Fix in Strapi 7 pages

Why it matters

Three are reference and demo pages built while the site was being made. They are published, listed in the sitemap, and readable by anyone. The components page is mostly “Lorem ipsum”, the Latin placeholder text used to fill a layout before the real words arrive.

Nine Printech sector pages have only a heading

We need a decision Decision · 9 pages

Why it matters

These sector pages show a title and nothing else: no description of the sector and no text. The Event Sectors page lists only the eight RosUpack sectors, which carry 220–270 words each. Apart from a stray link or two, nothing on the site leads to the nine, so visitors mostly reach them from Google, and a page with no words gives Google nothing to match a search against.

The nine are Flexo printing, Offset printing, Post-press solutions, Printing accessories, Pre-press solutions, Wide format printing, Printing process software, Digital printing equipment and materials, and Automation, control and remote diagnostics solutions. The About Printech page is in the same position: published, but not linked from anywhere.

Where to change it

Tell us which option

OptionWhat it means
Write them up and link themEach sector page gets a proper write-up in the shape of the RosUpack ones, and the Event Sectors page links to them. This is a writing job for your team.
Unpublish themSensible if Printech’s own website already covers these sectors. Done in Strapi by your team, and it takes the pages out of the sitemap in the same step.

A mismatch on one of them. The Printing accessories page has the address printech-sector-10, and its Google title says “Label Printing Machines & Solutions”, which does not match. If you keep it, that title needs rewriting too.

What we need from you. Which option. If you write them up, tell us when they are ready and we will check the Sectors page lists them.

16

The pop-up tool has never worked on this address

We need a decision Decision · 230 pages

Why it matters

Every page loads a script from OptinMonster, a tool for sign-up pop-ups. OptinMonster answers that rosupackexpo.com has not been registered with it, so it shows nothing. It was in the 21 August report and nothing has changed: each page view makes two requests that fail, and has done for at least six weeks.

Either someone is meant to be using it and the domain needs registering, or it is a leftover and can go.

Where to change it

Tell us which option. Registering the domain is done in your OptinMonster account; removing the tool is on our side

OptionWhat it means
Register rosupackexpo.com in OptinMonsterDone by your team in your OptinMonster account. The tool can then run on the site as intended, and nothing changes on our side.
Remove it from the siteDone by us. Nothing visible changes, because it is not showing anything now, and every page makes two fewer requests.

If you have time

Worth doing, not urgent

None of these is a problem. They are the difference between a site that is correct and one that is polished.

Four finished articles still have placeholder web addresses

SP Ultraflex’s Milestone Project in Russia (ros-upack-article-2), IAPACK China (ros-upack-article-3), Onward and Upward: RosUpack 2025 Continues to Grow (ros-upack-article-4) and Happy International Packaging Professionals Day! (ros-upack-article-553) still have addresses that were never named, and the Korean article’s address is just -1. Renaming them to match the headline helps them rank. If you rename one, add a redirect from the old address in the same step, as in the redirects item above.

Thirteen images are over 1 MB each

Four of them are on Explore Moscow, the largest a 4.1 MB boats photo. The others are the Rio de Janeiro photo on Why Exhibit (2.8 MB), two show photos in the article Reigniting Russia’s Packaging & Printing Market, the trade-fair photo on Exhibitor Resource Centre, the brochure and post-show report mock-ups on the homepage, Download Event Brochure and Download Post-Show Report (PNG, 1.1–1.2 MB each), and a PNG on About ITE. Saving them as JPEG or WebP at around 1920 pixels wide before uploading would make those pages load noticeably faster. The rest of the site’s image weight is on our side, see below.

One article is entirely pictures

Packaging Market In Russia has its text inside the images, so Google sees about ten words, and its description is “Short overview”. A few paragraphs summarising the charts, plus a proper description, would let it rank.

Two articles have very short descriptions

The Global Packaging Industry In Numbers (“An industry set for growth”) and Visit RosUpack 2022 (“No additional restrictions on holding exhibitions were imposed”) would do more for you with a full sentence about the article.

Fifteen article titles are cut off in search results

Google shows roughly the first 60 characters of a title and trims the rest. The worst is RosUpack And Printech 2024: Record-Breaking Exhibition Area and Number Of Participants, Hot Topics… at 163 characters. You do not need to rename the articles: each has a separate Meta Title field used only for search results, so a shorter version can go there while the headline stays as it is.

Photo descriptions for the footer icons and the Printech logo

Most of the roughly 1,500 gallery photos have no description, which is low priority for galleries. It is worth filling in the Printech logo in the top bar and the LinkedIn and VK icons in the footer, which a screen reader currently announces as unlabelled links. We are also adding labels on our side.

The Free Promo page takes an extra hop

On /free-promo/, two links go to /visitor-registration without the slash on the end, so every click bounces through a redirect first. Changing them to /visitor-registration/ fixes it.

Four links need checking from inside Russia

promo.polymerbranch.com and mcx.gov.ru (partner logos), mos.ru (partner logo) and yhcargoindia.com (the “View Website” button on the Y&H Cargo page) did not answer at all from outside Russia. The likely explanation is that they only answer visitors inside Russia, so we have not listed them as faults. Please have someone on a Russian connection open all four before anyone edits them. A handful of other outside links (the OECD, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, Academia.edu and the ITE exhibitor catalogue) refuse automated checks but open normally in a browser, so they need no action.

Google is being sent none of your event detail

Every page has a field for structured data, a machine-readable summary that lets Google show dates, venue and images directly in a search result rather than just a blue link. It is empty on almost every page. Nothing has changed since August; it is noted so it is not lost. Tell us if you want to look at it.

On our side

What we are already fixing

Found in the same review, but ours to put right. Two items have moved to our side since August: the weight of your images, because smaller copies already exist and the site can use them, and the Google spreadsheet address that was in the Hangzhou Ruixue article’s canonical field, which the site now ignores. Since 21 August these have shipped: the security certificate is now served complete; the header that forces a secure connection is in place; the wide table in the pulp and paper article now scrolls inside its box instead of being cut off; and no page failed to load and no image failed to display in the browser check. The gallery-title problem below was also visible in August and was not listed then; it is real and is on our list.

Every picture is downloaded at the size it was uploaded, although smaller copies of most already exist on the server, which is most of the weight on the media galleries. We are switching the site to the smaller copies. Large uploads that are heavy at any size are in the optional list above

Nothing stops a wrong canonical address from going live, which is how twelve pages ended up pointing Google at addresses that do not exist. We are adding a check so a canonical that points at a missing page, or at an address that only forwards, is ignored and the page’s own address is used instead

prevents a repeat of the 12 pages

Four standard browser security headers are still missing, so the site is not as protected as it could be against certain attacks. These are set at the hosting and content delivery layer rather than in the website

What happens now

Start with the canonical fields and the redirects

Clear one box on each of twelve pages and add twelve redirect entries. Between them that is about an hour, and it puts your Exhibitor Enquiry page back in front of Google and turns about forty broken links back on, 25 of them “book a stand” links. Do the Novotel Moscow City booking button today.

Then links, titles and descriptions

The India button, the other dead links, the two 2026 titles, the four “RosUpack 2025” titles, then the gallery and page descriptions, and the unpublish and noIndex list. The descriptions are the long ones and can be spread over several sittings. Everything marked Fix in Strapi goes live as soon as you publish the record.

Two things to check before you write

Which of the two packaging-machinery sectors the “Smart Packaging Machinery Exhibition” links were meant to reach, and whether the four Russian links open from inside Russia. Both are quick and would otherwise have us guessing on your behalf.

Two decisions from you

Whether the nine Printech sector pages get written up or unpublished, and whether to register the pop-up tool or have us remove it. Reply to this report with your answers and we will action both.

We re-run the check

Once you have published your changes, we run the same review again and send you a short before-and-after. No need to tell us when — just say the word.

This review had two parts, run on different days. The search-engine crawl ran on 2 October 2026 and covered 249 addresses: all 231 in your sitemap plus 18 others reached through links, such as old addresses that now lead to page-not-found. The browser check ran on 5 October 2026: all 230 sitemap pages were loaded in a real browser, with the components page left out, and every one was also loaded at phone width, so the phone findings are totals rather than samples. The 23 pages with a sign-up or enquiry form were each loaded three times at phone width. Accessibility checks ran on one page of each type (54 in all), so a shared part of the site such as the menu, footer or sponsor strip is reported once but applies on every page. Because the crawl is three days older than the browser check, anything you changed in Strapi between 2 and 5 October may already be fixed; the links, titles and addresses in the first half of this report come from the crawl. The browser check raised 708 individual flags. Each was looked at, and the real problems are in this report; 460 were the single inactive pop-up script counted on every page, and others turned out to be fine and are left out, including an earlier pass that reported 93 broken images, which were all loading correctly and had simply not finished downloading, and error messages that come from Google’s and other companies’ own scripts rather than from the site. Each page was loaded once per pass, so this lists what we found, which is not the same as every page being free of problems. Suggested wording, titles and addresses are a starting point, drafted from what is already on your pages rather than from your marketing plan: please read them over before publishing and change anything that does not sound like you.
