Visitor registration does not work on the live site
Why it matters
The registration form on /visitor-registration/ is a small piece of code pasted into the page, which loads the ticketing widget from your registration provider. That code names the server the widget should talk to — and that server no longer exists. It is not down, and it is not slow: the address has been removed from the internet altogether, so nothing the browser asks for can ever arrive.
What a visitor sees is a page that loads normally, with an empty band where the form should be. Nothing appears, no error is shown, and there is nothing to click. Anyone arriving to register simply leaves.
The provider’s current address is wisent-api.itegroup.online, and your own registration code (961186) answers correctly on it today. The fix is one address in one line of the pasted code. Nothing in the site itself needs to change and no developer is needed.
This is the only page on the site carrying the widget, so nothing else is affected.
Where to change it
Strapi → Pages → Visitor Registration → the block of code in the page text
| Setting | Currently | Change it to |
|---|---|---|
| data-apibaseurl | https://wisent-api.itegroup.online/api |
Where exactly. Open Visitor Registration in Strapi and find the block of code in the page text — it begins with <div id="app"> and mentions wisent. Change only the address in the quotes after data-apibaseurl. Leave the registration code 961186 and everything else exactly as it is.
What you will see afterwards. The widget will load and show its real status. That status is currently closed — the provider reports registration for the 2027 edition as not yet open, which is a scheduling matter for your team rather than a fault. Either way a visitor gets a working form that tells them where things stand, instead of a blank space.
The same fault is on other ITE sites. The same old address is pasted into the registration page on several other sites in the group, including MiningWorld. Each site has its own record in Strapi, so the edit needs making on each — but it is the same one-line change every time.
Verified. On 26 August the live page’s code names the old address, and that address returns no answer from a public DNS lookup — it does not resolve at all. The new address answers correctly for registration code 961186.
