Ten buttons on Why Visit lead to pages that do not exist

Fix in Strapi 1 page · 10 buttons

Why it matters

This is the most damaging item on the list, because Why Visit is a main navigation page and every one of these buttons is on it. A visitor who reads about a feature of the show and clicks to find out more lands on an error message.

The addresses in these buttons do not exist anywhere on the site. Either the sections were removed and the buttons were left behind, or the addresses were typed before the pages were built and never revisited.

This needs checking against the live event programme rather than a find-and-replace: some of these sections presumably still run and need their page created or re-linked, and the ones that no longer run should have their buttons deleted rather than repointed.

Where to change it

The same addresses are used elsewhere. MADA Awards is also linked from the homepage (“Learn More”) and from About MosBuild (“Read More”), and several of these addresses appear inside article bodies too. Deciding what each one should point at fixes every copy at once — so do this page first and the rest follow.

Verified. All ten addresses were requested individually on 14 September. None of them exists on the site; none is a case of a page being temporarily unavailable.

2

Seven more links inside article text lead nowhere

Fix in Strapi 7 links

Why it matters

These are links inside body text rather than buttons, so a reader hits the error mid-article — which is where most people stop reading and leave.

One of them is a spelling slip rather than a missing page: the sector page it wants does exist, with a double “l” in panelling.

One is a leftover from a draft and is covered separately in the duplicate articles item below.

Seventeen sector pages are telling Google to list a different page instead

Fix in Strapi 17 pages

Why it matters

Every page carries a setting called Canonical URL, and it has one purpose: to tell Google “this page is a duplicate, index that other address instead of this one.” Left empty, the site fills in the page’s own address, which is the right answer almost every time.

On these seventeen it names an old “mos-build-sector-N” address. Those addresses still load, but they are forwarding placeholders that carry a “do not list this page” instruction of their own. So each sector page is telling Google its real address is a page Google has been told to ignore — and the sector page quietly drops out of results.

These are commercially important pages: they are where somebody searching for flooring, or wallpaper, or bathroom fixtures would land. This was reported in August and is unchanged. The fix is identical on all seventeen — empty the box.

Where to change it

Strapi → Sectors → each page → SEO → Canonical URL — clear the field

PageCanonical URL currently points at

Stone Materials/sectors/mos-build-sector-7/
Wall & Ceiling Panelling/sectors/mos-build-sector-8/
Wallpaper/sectors/mos-build-sector-9/
Windows/sectors/mos-build-sector-11/

Why these look fine when you check them. Open any of those “mos-build-sector” addresses in a browser and it loads without an error, which is why this is easy to dismiss. The instruction telling Google to ignore the page is invisible to a visitor — it sits in the page’s code, not on the screen. That is exactly what makes this worth doing from a list rather than by eye.

Four more pages point at an address that is genuinely gone

Fix in Strapi 4 pages

Why it matters

Same field as the item above, but here the address named has been deleted outright rather than turned into a placeholder. These four are telling Google “our real address is a page that does not exist”, which is a request to be dropped from search altogether.

Three of the four are copies of articles whose originals have since been deleted, so they are pointing at their own vanished twin. Those three also need a decision about whether the copy should exist at all — see the item below.

On all four, emptying the box is enough; the site then fills the field in correctly by itself.

Duplicate and unfinished articles

We need a decision 8 pages

Why it matters

Three articles exist twice, as an original and a copy whose address ends in “-1”. The originals have since been deleted, so the surviving copies are the ones live on the site — which is why they are also pointing at nothing in the item above.

Two more are straightforward duplicate pairs where both copies are still live and splitting their search ranking between them.

And one is a test record: an article whose body contains the link text “dasdasd” pointing at an address called /sda/. It is published and public. It should be finished or deleted.

Where to change it

Strapi → Articles → keep one copy, delete or merge the other

Tell us before you delete. If any of these addresses has been shared in an email or on social media, deleting it outright turns that link into an error for everyone who saved it. Tell us which copy you are keeping and we will set up forwarding from the other.

Seven pages have no description for search results

Fix in Strapi 7 pages

Why it matters

The description is the grey text under your link in a Google result — the two lines that decide whether somebody clicks you or the result below you. On these seven there is nothing there at all.

Until recently these pages quietly borrowed the homepage’s description. That borrowing has now been switched off, which is the right outcome — a page advertising itself with somebody else’s sentence is worse than one advertising itself with none — but it means the gap is now visible.

Suggested wording is below, at roughly 120 to 155 characters each. Please read it over before publishing, because it goes out under MosBuild’s name.

Where to change it

Where the claims in this wording come from. We only used claims your own site already makes. “The largest international construction and interior design exhibition in Russia” is on your homepage, and “for more than 30 years” is on About MosBuild. We have deliberately not quoted visitor or exhibitor figures anywhere — those change each edition and would need checking against this year’s numbers before they went out.

The 89 partner pages are ours, not yours. Another 89 partner pages also have no description. Please leave those alone — we are generating them automatically from each partner’s name and role, so there is nothing for your team to do there.

7

Forty-three photo galleries all share one word as their description

Fix in Strapi 43 pages

Why it matters

Every one of these galleries has the single word “MosBuild” in its description field — in four different spellings, which is the giveaway that they were filled in quickly rather than written: “Mosbuild” on 17, “MosBuild” on 12, “mosbuild” on 10 and “MOSBUILD” on 4.

One word tells a searcher nothing about which gallery they are about to open. Worse, because all 43 say the same thing, Google treats them as duplicates of one another and is unlikely to list any of them.

One sentence per gallery is enough to separate them. This was in the August report and is unchanged.

Where to change it

Strapi → Media Gallery → each gallery → SEO → Meta Description

Photo gallery from [section name] at MosBuild [year], Crocus Expo Moscow — [what is in the pictures].A pattern that works — fill in the three brackets and each gallery is distinct

This overlaps with the four identically-named galleries below. Four of the 43 are also called exactly the same thing as each other, so they need both a description and a name. Doing those four first gets the worst of it out of the way.

8

Four galleries have exactly the same name

We need a decision 4 pages

Why it matters

There are four galleries called MosBuild 2025 – Exhibition. They are not duplicates — they hold different photographs, 9, 12, 590 and 13 pictures respectively — but nothing in the name, the address or the description tells them apart.

For a visitor browsing your media gallery, that is four identical-looking links. For Google it is four pages competing with each other for the same words.

This needs your judgement rather than an edit, because only your team knows what actually distinguishes them — the hall, the day, the theme or the event within the show.

Where to change it

Strapi → Media Gallery → rename each

Photo descriptions are missing across the site

Fix in Strapi 2,659 of 3,298 images

Why it matters

Every image can carry a short written description. It is read aloud to a blind visitor by a screen reader, and it is how Google works out what a photograph shows. On 2,659 of your 3,298 images that field is empty.

This is not new damage, and it is worth understanding why. Until recently every one of those images carried the text “MosBuild©24” instead — on all of them, regardless of what was in the picture. That was worse than empty, because it looked filled in while telling a screen-reader user and Google nothing at all. That text has now gone, so the field is honestly empty and can be worked through.

This is the largest single job on the list and it does not have to be done at once. Doing it in the order below puts the effort where it returns the most.

Where to change it

Strapi → Media Library → each image → Alternative text

Suggested order. 1. Homepage and sector page images, roughly 60 photographs, which carry the most traffic. 2. Article header images, roughly 250, which are the ones that surface in search. 3. Gallery photographs, the bulk of the total — a short description per gallery, applied to each photo in it, is perfectly acceptable.

What a good description looks like. Say what is in the picture. “Visitors at the Kerama Marazzi stand in Hall 3, MosBuild 2025” is useful. “MosBuild” is not, and “photo” is not. If an image is purely decorative — a background texture, a divider — leaving it empty is the correct answer rather than a gap.

Five of these are ours. A handful of images in the sliders and the footer have their descriptions written into the page template rather than held in your Media Library, so you cannot reach them. We are fixing those five; the rest of this item is yours.

10

Three links to other websites are dead

Fix in Strapi 3 links

Why it matters

Each of these was checked individually on 14 September with an ordinary browser identity, so none of them is a case of a website simply refusing automated requests.

Two are research and trade pages that have been taken down by the sites that hosted them. The third has been permanently withdrawn by the hotel group.

Either re-link to a current equivalent or remove the link and keep the words around it.

Where to change it

Strapi → the article or page named → the link address

PageLink goes toStatus

Seventeen others were checked and left alone. The scan also flagged the ITE catalogue, UNEP and Radisson links as broken. They are not — those sites refuse automated checks but open perfectly well in a browser. They are not listed here and need no action.

If you have time

Worth doing, not urgent

None of these is a problem. They are the difference between a site that is correct and one that is polished.

Twelve pages cannot be reached by browsing the site

These pages are live and findable in Google, but nothing anywhere on the site links to them: About ITE, Contact Us, Free Promo, Become an Agent, Brazilian Exhibitors, Indian Compliance, and the four Why Exhibit pages for GCC, India, India New and Türkiye. If any of them should be in the main menu, that is a switch on the page record in Strapi. Worth noting that there are two near-identical Why Exhibit pages for India; one is probably redundant. The 209 articles and 39 galleries that are also unreachable are a different problem, caused by the Load More button, and we are handling that in code.

1,384 images are larger than they need to be — 320 MB in total

Slightly worse than August. The site has no automatic image compression, so whatever is uploaded is exactly what every visitor downloads, which is felt most on a phone. The worst offenders are Furniture_2c8aca05.jpg at 2.2 MB, Wallpaper_d25bc876.jpg at 2.0 MB, mb_0303_2ee07e07.jpg at 1.9 MB and Plan_Your_Travel_2aa182aa.jpg at 1.8 MB. The one to do first is not the biggest: Kastamonu_logo_91d79a11.jpg is 1.0 MB and appears on 30 pages, so re-saving that single file is the largest win available for the effort. Re-saving these at around 200 kB before upload makes a visible difference.

Twenty-nine page titles contain untranslated Russian words

Unchanged from August. Titles such as “Participants MosBuild 2025 will present my products V 17 sections” and “Webinar Trends on market building materials” read as machine translations, and these appear directly in Google results where they are the first thing a prospective visitor sees. Worth a pass by somebody who can rewrite them properly in English.

Fifty-eight page titles are cut off in search results

Anything over about 60 characters gets trimmed mid-sentence, so the part that persuades someone to click is never seen. The longest on the site runs to 126 characters. You do not need to rename the pages — each has a separate Meta Title field used only for search results. Front-load the words that matter and let the rest live in the body.

Nineteen descriptions you wrote are slightly over length

Sixty-seven descriptions run past the point where Google trims, but 48 of those are written automatically by the site and we are shortening them on our side — you will see those correct themselves with no action. The 19 below are hand-written, so no change of ours will touch them: the homepage, Türkiye’s Textile & Interior Export Trends, Rifar’s Debut at MosBuild, Innovations in Construction Technology, Sveza’s Innovative Plywood Solutions, How to Choose Energy-Efficient Windows, Import Komplekt Service, 10% Growth in Housing Construction Market Goods, Innovative Building Materials to Explore, ITE Connect Now Available in Turkish, South Korea’s High-Tech Living & Modular Housing, Sustainability’s Role in Modern Construction, Top Flooring Material Trends for 2026, What to Expect at MosBuild 2025, Biometric Door Locks for Smart Buildings, Why MosBuild is Essential for Industry Professionals, Exhibit at Our Construction Innovation Exhibition, MosBuild Post-Show Report and Ceramic Tiles and Finishes Exhibition. Each is over by a handful of characters; trimming to about 150 is enough, and it is only worth doing if you are in the record anyway.

What happens now

Start with the 21 canonical fields

Seventeen sector pages and four more, all fixed the same way: empty the box. Those seventeen sector pages are where somebody searching for flooring or wallpaper or bathroom fixtures should land, and every one of them is currently asking Google to list something else instead. It is the highest-value hour on this list.

Then the Why Visit buttons

Ten buttons on a main navigation page, all leading to an error. This one needs a look at the live event programme rather than a quick edit — decide which of those sections still run, create or re-link those, and delete the buttons for the ones that do not. Fixing it there also fixes the copies on the homepage, About MosBuild and several articles.

Then the descriptions — an afternoon

Seven page descriptions using the suggested wording, and the 43 galleries, which need one sentence each. The galleries currently all say the word “MosBuild” and nothing else, so Google treats them as 43 copies of the same page. Four of them also need renaming, because they are called exactly the same thing.

Treat the photo descriptions as ongoing

2,659 images is not an afternoon and should not be planned as one. Do the homepage and sector images first, then article headers, then galleries a gallery at a time — and build it into publishing, so anything new arrives described rather than joining the backlog.

Two things need a decision, not an edit

Which copy of each duplicate article to keep, and what actually distinguishes the four galleries all called MosBuild 2025 – Exhibition. Reply to this report and we will set up forwarding for whichever addresses you retire — that part cannot be done from Strapi alone.

We re-run the check

Once you have published your changes we run the same review again and send you a short before-and-after. No need to tell us when — just say the word.

This is a search-engine review, carried out on 14 September 2026 as a follow-up to the report of 19 August. 467 addresses were crawled and every count here was measured rather than estimated. Where a scan and the live page disagreed we went with the page: the canonical fields, the duplicate articles and every dead link in this report were re-read directly on 14 September with an ordinary browser identity, and each of the ten missing Why Visit destinations was requested individually. Several things the scan raised were checked, found to be fine and left out — seventeen external links it called broken open perfectly well in a browser; the spelling warnings fire on MosBuild, Decorium, MADA and Crocus Expo; the 37 articles it called too short are not, since an article it reported as empty actually serves 1,226 words; the partner pages are brief because they are directory entries, which is correct; and the pages titled “Redirecting…” are working as designed. The suggested wording in this report uses only claims your own site already makes, and deliberately quotes no visitor or exhibitor figures — please read it over before publishing and change anything that does not sound like you. This was a search review rather than a full browser sweep, so layout and accessibility were not re-tested on this run.
