The biggest pattern

47 pages are sharing one sentence

Google shows a short description under every link. When a page has none of its own, the site falls back to the homepage’s. Right now 47 different pages are all advertising the same sentence about the leading travel and tourism fair — the conference programme, Contact Us, the Oman partner-country page, the visa guide and all 16 staff profiles among them. It is correct on the homepage and on nothing else. The staff profiles we can fix automatically; 28 pages need a sentence written by you.

Seven pages are telling Google their real address is somewhere else

Fix in Strapi 7 pages

Why it matters

Every page can carry a setting called Canonical URL. It has one job: to tell Google “this page is a copy — index that other address instead of this one.” Left empty, the site fills in the page’s own address, which is correct almost every time.

On seven pages it is filled in, and all seven point somewhere wrong. Four of them — including Enquire to Exhibit, the page every header and footer button on the site leads to — name an old address that no longer exists, so each of those pages is asking Google to index a page-not-found in its place. A page that asks to be left out generally is.

All seven work perfectly for anyone who reaches them through the menu. The damage is invisible and entirely in search.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page or article → SEO → Canonical URL — clear the field

PageCanonical URL currently saysWhat that address isChange it to
/exhibitor-enquiry/https://expomitt.com/exhibit/exhibitor-enquiry/Page not foundClear the field
/sectors/https://expomitt.com/exhibit/sectors/Page not foundClear the field
/visitor-registration/https://expomitt.com/attend/visitor-registration/Page not foundClear the field
/leadscanning/https://expomitt.com/attend/leadscanning/Page not foundClear the field
/about-mitt/https://expomitt.com/about/about-mitt/An old address that only forwards back to this pageClear the field
/matchmaking-service/http://expomitt.com/matchmaking-service/This same page, at the insecure http addressClear the field
/articles/where-nature-thrives-and-adventure-awaits-1/hhttps://expomitt.com/articles/where-nature-thrives-and-adventure-awaits-1/A typo — hhttps is not a valid addressClear the field

Clearing the field is the whole fix. Empty the box on each and the site fills in the page’s own address by itself. There is nothing to retype and no developer involved — empty is the correct value. Only fill this field in when a page is a deliberate copy of another one.

Do Enquire to Exhibit first. It is your main conversion page: all 257 pages on the site link to it from the header and footer. It is also the page currently asking Google to index a page-not-found instead of itself.

Verified. All seven were read from the live pages on 24 August. The four /exhibit/ and /attend/ addresses were requested individually and every one returned a page-not-found; /about/about-mitt/ forwards straight back to /about-mitt/.

2

28 links in your articles and sector pages point at addresses that no longer exist

Fix in Strapi 28 links · 21 pages

Why it matters

The site used to have its pages under /exhibit/… and /attend/…. Those addresses are gone, but links to them are still in the text of 18 articles and on the Enquire to Exhibit button of three sector pages. Anyone clicking one of them lands on a page-not-found instead of the page named on the link.

There are two ways to fix them, and the table below supports either. Page by page: open each record listed, find the link by its text, and change its address to the one in the last column — 28 edits across 21 records. Or all at once: four entries in Redirects, listed in the notes below, make every old address forward to its replacement. The redirect route also rescues any old link still out on the web — in a partner’s newsletter, say, or a search result Google has not refreshed.

Neither route replaces the item above — the seven Canonical URL fields still have to be cleared.

/sectors/mobile-homes-and-glamping/

The four redirects, if you would rather do it once. In Redirects, the Source is the old address without the leading slash and the Destination is the new one: exhibit/exhibitor-enquiry → /exhibitor-enquiry/, exhibit/why-exhibit → /why-exhibit/, exhibit/sectors → /sectors/, attend/visitor-registration → /visitor-registration/. A fifth, attend/leadscanning → /leadscanning/, is worth adding at the same time: nothing on the site links to it any more, but it is the address the Lead Scanning page’s canonical field still names.

Three of these are buttons, not body text. On Hotel Equipment and Services, Tourist Board and Travel Agencies the dead link is the Enquire to Exhibit button’s own link field rather than a link inside the text. Those three are worth correcting in the record straight away whichever route you take — it is the button a prospective exhibitor presses.

One link no redirect can rescue. In the article Why Mobile Homes and Glamping Are the Future of Travel, the link under “glamping solutions” has the address pasted twice, one after the other. It has to be re-typed in the article as /sectors/mobile-homes-and-glamping/ — the last row of the table.

Verified. Every internal link on all 258 pages was followed on 24 August: these 28 links on 21 pages reach one of five addresses, and all five return a page-not-found. The four replacement addresses were requested and loaded normally.

3

Seven pages that were never meant to be public are live and listed in Google

Fix in Strapi 7 pages

Why it matters

Six of these are test records made while the site was being built: three photo galleries titled media title or just title, an article that is a word-for-word copy of Registration for MITT 2026 is now open, a demo version of the Partners and Sponsors page, and a Finance Team contact card that was saved as a speaker profile. The seventh is the reference page of design samples.

All seven are published, all seven are in your sitemap — the file that invites Google to index a page — and all seven can be found and read by anyone. The duplicated article is the most costly: Google has to choose between two identical articles and splits the credit between them.

Unpublishing removes each from the site and from the sitemap in one step. Nothing on the site links to any of them, so nothing breaks.

Where to change it

Strapi → the record → Unpublish

Verified. All seven were loaded from the live site on 24 August and read as described. The copied article matches the original at 99.8% of its text.

4

Three pages exist twice

Fix in Strapi 3 pairs

Why it matters

Two articles and one page are each published twice at different addresses. The two copies of each are near-identical, so Google has to pick one and splits the credit between them; neither ranks as well as a single copy would.

For the two articles the copy carries -1 on the end of its address and is the one to unpublish — the original is the one any old link points at. The two matchmaking pages are headed the same and differ only in a few words; nothing on the site links to either of them, so keep whichever you prefer.

Tell us which address you kept in each case and we will forward the other one to it, so nobody holding an old link gets an error page.

Where to change it

Strapi → Articles or Pages → unpublish the copy you are not keeping

/matchmaking//matchmaking-service/Both headed What is Matchmaking? — 322 and 320 words

The matchmaking pair. We have suggested keeping /matchmaking/ because it is the shorter address, but the choice is yours — /matchmaking-service/ is the one whose Canonical URL field also needs clearing (first item), so if you keep that one, do both edits in the same sitting. Whichever survives should be linked from the menu; today neither is reachable by clicking (next item).

5

Eleven pages cannot be reached from anywhere on the site

Fix in Strapi 11 pages

Why it matters

These pages exist and are in your sitemap, but no menu, footer or page links to them, so a visitor can only arrive from a search result or an old bookmark — and a page nothing links to earns nothing from the rest of the site and is rarely shown in search.

The gallery index is the one with the biggest knock-on effect: six of your photo galleries are linked from the homepage, but the other 18 can only be reached through /media-gallery/, and nothing links to that. Oman, Partner Country of MITT 2026, is the other page that deserves a way in.

Add each to the relevant menu section or the footer — or, if a page has served its purpose, unpublish it. Either way it stops being a page Google is invited to but visitors cannot find.

Where to change it

Strapi → the main menu or the footer → add a link; or the page record → Unpublish

/matchmaking/What is Matchmaking? — whichever of the pair you keep

How we counted. Starting from the homepage and following every link on every page, 88 of your 258 addresses can be reached by clicking. The 170 that cannot are the ten above and their matchmaking twin, the 16 staff profiles (a decision below), 120 of your 152 articles (ours to fix — see What we are already fixing), the 18 galleries, and the pages being unpublished in the previous items.

The galleries are one link, not eighteen. A single Media Gallery entry in the menu or the footer, pointing at /media-gallery/, makes all 18 reachable at once — the index page already lists them.

6

Three articles show only “MITT 2025” as their title in Google

Fix in Strapi 3 articles

Why it matters

The title is the blue clickable line in a Google result. It has its own field, separate from the headline on the page, and on these three articles that field holds the show name and nothing else — so all three appear in search as identical results reading MITT 2025.

A searcher cannot tell them apart, and neither can Google, which treats near-identical results as a sign the pages are interchangeable and shows fewer of them.

Clearing the field is enough: the site then uses the article’s own headline, which is exactly right in all three cases.

Where to change it

Strapi → the article → SEO → Meta Title — clear the field

ArticleTitle Google shows todayChange it to
/articles/become-a-participant-of-mitt-2023/MITT 2025Clear the field

/articles/sustainable-development-makes-tourism-one-of-the-main-drivers-of-the-economy-the-results-of-mitt-2024/MITT 2025Clear the field

One title problem you will see that is ours, not yours. A few page headlines reach Google with a space missing — ExploreMoscow, ConferenceProgramme, What isMatchmaking? — although they look right on screen. That is a fault in how the site builds the text, and we are fixing it.

7

Twenty-four photo galleries describe themselves as “MITT”

Fix in Strapi 24 galleries

Why it matters

The description is the grey text under your link in a Google result — the sentence that decides whether somebody clicks. On every one of your photo galleries that field holds the single word MITT (on one, mitt), which gives a searcher nothing to go on and makes 24 pages look identical.

One sentence per gallery does it, and they follow a pattern: what the photographs show, which edition, where. For example: Photo gallery from MITT 2024, Moscow’s international travel and tourism exhibition — exhibitor stands, the conference programme and networking events at Crocus Expo.

Change the event and the year for each one and the whole set takes well under an hour.

Where to change it

  • /media-gallery/mitt-travel-start-2022/
  • /media-gallery/mitt-travel-start-2025/
  • /media-gallery/mitt-travel-start-2026/

The galleries look alike to a search engine anyway. They differ only in their photographs — the surrounding text is the same on each. The one-line descriptions go most of the way; a short paragraph on each saying what happened that year would finish the job. Not urgent.

8

Twenty-eight pages need a description of their own

Fix in Strapi 28 pages

Why it matters

The same field, on the pages that are not galleries. On these 28 it is empty, so each shows the homepage sentence about the leading travel and tourism fair. Somebody searching for your visa guide, the conference programme or the Oman partner-country page currently reads a line that never mentions any of those things.

When every page says the same thing, Google writes its own snippet instead and the pages look like copies of one another.

The suggestions below are drafted from what each page actually says on the live site. They are a starting point, not a decision about how you want to sound — please read each one before you use it.

Check the dates and roles before pasting. The 2027 dates and venue on the conference programme, the Oman and South Korea lines, and the MITT Zima dates were all read from the live pages on 24 August. If any of them change, the description has to change with them.

Pages deliberately left off this list. The homepage sentence is correct where it is. The demo partners page and the design-samples page also show it, and neither needs copy — both are being unpublished.

Six pages use the Heading 1 style more than once

Fix in Strapi 6 pages

Why it matters

A page should have exactly one Heading 1. It is the page’s title as far as Google is concerned — the one line that says what this page is about. Where there are several, Google has to guess which one counts.

On these six a subheading, a statistic or an empty line inside the body text has been set as Heading 1. The Oman article is the notable one: three of its section headings are Heading 1, so the page has four.

Change the extra ones to Heading 2 — or Heading 3 for the 24% figure on the transport sector page, which is a number rather than a heading — and delete the empty ones. Nothing looks wrong to a visitor and nothing will look different on screen apart from the size of the line.

725 images are heavier than they need to be

Fix in Strapi 725 images · 153 MB

Why it matters

Every visitor downloads these at full size, including anyone on a phone using mobile data at the show. It is the single biggest thing slowing the site down, and Google counts page speed when it decides where to rank you.

Explore Moscow is the worst single page: five photographs weighing 12 MB between them, three of which are 2.5 to 4.3 MB each — the size of a print-quality file, displayed as a card. The photo galleries hold 548 of the 725 between them, and the gallery pages were the slowest to load in our browser check.

Resize before uploading — 1,600 pixels on the long side for a photograph, 800 for a card or a logo — and save as JPEG at about 80% quality or WebP; aim for under 200 kB per photograph. Replace media in the Media Library swaps the file in place, so the smaller version appears everywhere the old one was used without re-linking anything.

Those six are 18 MB on their own.

The galleries are a pattern, not 548 problems. Gallery photographs are mostly 160–220 kB each — not huge individually, but a gallery of 112 of them is 16 MB. Re-saving them at 1,200 pixels wide would roughly halve each one. Start with the 2023–2026 galleries, which are the ones people open.

Where the number comes from. We weighed every image on all 258 pages on 24 August: 1,747 distinct pictures, 725 of them above 100 kB, 153 MB between them. Each picture is counted once, at the size it was uploaded, however many pages it appears on.

Ten links to other websites are dead

Fix in Strapi 10 links · 6 pages

Why it matters

These links leave your site for somebody else’s, and the page they point at no longer answers. A visitor clicking any of them gets an error instead of the regulations, the hotel or the visa service the link promises.

Two are hotel booking buttons on Plan Your Travel — the page someone opens after they have decided to come, where a dead button costs a room booking. One is the regulations document for the Travel Start competition. Five point at pages of your visa partner that have been moved.

The Woodex one is a single-letter typo in a shared list, so fixing it there fixes every ITE site that shows the list.

Where to change it

One of these is on the RosUpack site too. The Novotel City address is dead on the RosUpack site’s travel page as well, so whoever supplies the corrected booking link can fix both sites at once.

Some links can only be checked by a person. A handful of outbound links — tourpom.ru, the Russian foreign ministry pages, the Hilton and Radisson booking pages, Investopedia and UNESCO among them — refuse automated requests as a matter of policy. We opened them by other means and have no reason to think any is broken; they simply cannot be monitored, so they are worth clicking through by hand once or twice a year.

Verified. Every one of the ten links was requested on 24 August, twice, and failed both times; https://visa-russian.ru/ and https://woodexexpo.com/ were requested and loaded normally.

Four empty blocks are leaving blank bands on the Exhibitor Feedback page

Fix in Strapi 1 page

Why it matters

The page alternates a testimonial video with a block of text. Four of those text blocks have no title and no content, so each one renders as an empty band about the height of a paragraph between two videos, and the page looks unfinished as you scroll.

Deleting the four empty blocks in the page’s content sections removes the gaps. If they were placeholders for text that is still to come, filling them in does the same.

Where to change it

Strapi → the Exhibitor Feedback page → the content sections → delete the four empty text blocks

Where this was found. In the browser pass on 24 August, which loads every page and measures each section as a visitor would see it. It is the only page on the site where an empty section was found.

Sixteen staff profile pages that nothing links to

We need a decision Decision · 16 pages

Why it matters

The site has 16 speaker records — the MITT team, from the Exhibition Director to the Technical Service Managers — each with its own public page. Nothing on the site lists them, so no visitor can reach them by clicking, yet all 16 are in the sitemap and open to search.

If they are meant to be seen — as a Meet the Team page, say, or beside the conference programme — tell us where and we will add the listing. If they exist only for internal use, we take them out of the sitemap so Google stops being sent to pages it cannot reach from anywhere.

Where to change it

Tell us to link them from a page, or to take them out of the sitemap

What we need from you. One line: link them, and from where — or leave them unlisted. The Finance Team card saved among them is covered in the test-records item above.

The pop-up tool has never worked on this address

We need a decision Decision

Why it matters

Every page on the site loads a pop-up tool — the kind used for newsletter sign-up boxes and exit-intent offers. On this site it has never displayed anything, because expomitt.com was never registered against the account the tool belongs to.

So every page load fetches a script that does nothing, and every page quietly records an error. Visitors see nothing either way; there is no broken box on screen. It is, however, more than half of everything our automated pass flagged on this site.

The choice is a business one. If the pop-ups are still wanted, the address needs registering in that account and they will start appearing. If they are not, we remove the tool and every page gets slightly faster.

Where to change it

Tell us to register the domain or to remove the tool

What we need from you. Whether the pop-ups are still part of the plan. If yes, someone with access to that account registers expomitt.com and we will confirm it starts working. If no, we take the tool out — that is a change on our side and needs nothing from your team.

It is the same on your other sites. The same tool is loaded, and equally inactive, across the other ITE sites we look after, and the same question is on the RosUpack report. Whichever way this goes it is worth settling once for all of them rather than site by site.

If you have time

Worth doing, not urgent

None of these is a problem. They are the difference between a site that is correct and one that is polished.

Ten “Exhibit at MITT” buttons take the long way round

On nine sector pages — Insurance Companies and Banking, Media, Mobile Homes and Glamping, Museums and Parks, Niche Tourism, Online Travel Agencies and Aggregators, Real Estate Agencies, Transport Services and Air Carriage, Travel Tech and IT Solutions — and the article Egypt Confirms Participation in MITT 2026, the button links to /exhibitor-enquiry without the slash on the end, so every click bounces through a redirect before the page opens. Adding the slash fixes each. A one-character edit, worth doing while you are in the record for the sector text.

Google is being sent none of your event detail

Every page has a field for structured data — a machine-readable summary that lets Google show the dates, the venue and a ticket link directly in a search result rather than just a blue link. It is empty across the site, so none of that appears. This is a small project rather than an edit, and the homepage is the one place it would pay: tell us when you want to look at it and we will draft the snippet for you to paste in.

Most sector pages carry only a paragraph or two of their own

Sector pages are how a buyer searching for “hotel equipment suppliers” or “travel tech” finds you at all. Most of the 19 have a short introduction and little else beneath the template. A couple of hundred words each — who exhibits, who visits, why — written over time, would help them rank for their sector terms. Hotel and Accommodation, Health and Medical Tourism and Transport Services are the fullest and show the shape to copy.

The images on your content pages have no description

Every image can carry a short description in the Media Library (Alternative text), read aloud to visitors using a screen reader and used by Google for image search. Almost none of the site’s images have one. The gallery photographs can stay as they are; the ones worth a phrase each are the 19 sector cards, the article cover images and the partner-country and hotel pictures. Two images on Why Visit have a description that is only a space — clear it or write a phrase.

Twelve article titles are cut off in search results

Google shows roughly the first 60 characters of a title and trims the rest mid-sentence. The webinar article is the extreme case at 159 characters. You do not need to rename the articles — each has a separate Meta Title field used only for search results, so a shorter version can go there while the headline on the page stays as it is.

What happens now

Start with the first two items

Clearing seven Canonical URL fields and adding four redirects is under half an hour of work. Between them they stop Enquire to Exhibit, Sectors, Visitor Registration and Lead Scanning asking Google to drop them, and turn 28 dead links back into working ones.

Then work down the list

The items are in the order we would do them. Everything marked Fix in Strapi goes live when you publish the record — no developer, no deploy. The descriptions and the images are the long ones and can be spread over several sittings; the test records and the duplicates are ten minutes.

Answer the two decisions — and tell us what you kept

Whether the 16 staff profiles should be linked or unlisted, and whether the pop-up tool stays or goes. And for the three duplicated pages, which address you kept, so we can forward the other one. Reply to this report and we will action all of it — the forwarding has to be set up on our side.

We re-run the check

Once you have published your changes we run the same review again and send you a short before-and-after. No need to tell us when — just say the word.

Every item in this report was checked by hand against the live site on 24 August 2026. 257 pages were loaded one by one in a real browser, at desktop and at phone width, and a separate search-engine crawl covered all 258 addresses in your sitemap. Every internal and external link was requested individually, every page was followed from the homepage, and all 1,747 distinct pictures were weighed, so the counts here are measured rather than estimated. Where our own scan and the live site disagreed, the live site won: six of the photo galleries turn out to be linked from the homepage, so 18 are unreachable rather than all 24; the dead links number 28 on 21 pages; and two links to visa-russian.ru that the scan had not flagged were found dead and added. Of the 6,987 individual flags the two scans raised, most were a single cause repeated once per page — more than half of the browser pass was the inactive pop-up script counted twice per page — and are listed here once; flags that turned out to be fine, including a dozen outbound links that merely refuse automated visitors, have been left out rather than passed on. Each page was loaded once per pass, so this review found what it found; it is not a guarantee that nothing else is wrong. Suggested wording is a starting point: please read it over before publishing, and change anything that does not match how you talk about the event.
