Five forwarding rules have a typo in the destination

Fix in Strapi 5 records · 4 sites

Why it matters

When a page moves or is renamed, a forwarding rule keeps the old address working: someone arriving at the old one is sent on to the new page without noticing. Between them your sites carry 273 of these rules, and they are the reason old links in emails, brochures and other people’s websites still work years later.

Fifteen of the 273 now forward a visitor to a page that no longer exists, so the person arrives at an error message instead. Six of your sites are affected; the other sixteen are clean.

These five are the simplest of the fifteen: the destination is a small typing slip, and the page it was meant to reach is live and working. Each fix is a paste into one field.

Where to change it

/exhibit-enquiry/
World Food · expoworldfood.com/fruits-and-vegetables/sectors/fruits-and-vegetable
/sectors/fruits-and-vegetables/

What each slip is. Analitika — the published article is of-the-russian, the rule says of-russian. DairyTech — right page, wrong path: sector pages live at /sectors/, not /exhibit/sectors/. MosBuild — the live page uses the British spelling, panelling with two L’s. World Food — the enquiry page on that site is called exhibit-enquiry, not exhibitor-enquiry; and vegetables is missing its final s.

How to apply one. Open the Redirects collection for that site, find the record whose Source matches the address in the second column, replace the Destination with the value in the last column, and Publish. Saving without publishing leaves the old value live — the sites read published content only.

How to write a destination. Write it as an address on your own site, starting with a single / and ending with one — /sectors/ready-packaging-and-labels/. You will notice the current values are written without either. That is not what is wrong with them, and it is not what you are fixing; the form in the last column is simply the one to prefer from here on.

The change goes live at the next deploy. Unlike page content, a forwarding rule is built into the site rather than read as someone browses. Your edit will not appear the moment you publish it — it arrives with the next release of that site.

Verified. On 21 August we requested all five destinations as they stand — every one returned a page-not-found — and all five replacements, which all loaded normally.

Four rules point at a sector that looks like it was renamed

We need a decision 4 records · 2 sites

Why it matters

On these four the old destination has gone, but there is a live sector page that appears to cover the same subject under a different name. That usually means the sector was renamed between editions.

We are not close enough to the show floor to be certain, and the difference matters: if a sector was renamed, the rule should point at its new page; if it was split into two, sending everyone to one half is the wrong answer.

Every suggested page below is live and loads normally. All you need to do is confirm that the two names really are the same sector.

Where to change it

Confirm the sector is the same one, then change the Destination — or tell us and we will

What we are reading into each one. DairyTech — the live sector has dropped “cooling” from its name and is now simply Freezing equipment. MosBuild — ceramic tile now sits under Keramika; furniture under Mebel i interer; and curtains, fabrics and blinds under Interernyj tekstil.

What we need from you. A yes or no on each. If a sector was renamed, say so and we will make the change with the first group above. If one was split or merged into something else, tell us where it went and we will point the rule there instead.

Verified. On 21 August each current destination was requested and returned a page-not-found; each suggested page was requested and loaded normally.

Five rules have nothing left to point at

We need a decision 5 records · 3 sites

Why it matters

On these there is no live page that matches what the rule was meant to reach, and no obvious stand-in. Each is a judgement call rather than a correction.

There are two honest answers to any of them. Point the rule somewhere sensible — the section index, or a page that covers the subject — so the visitor lands somewhere useful. Or delete the rule and let the old address return a proper page-not-found, which is the right answer when the thing it named genuinely no longer exists.

Leaving them as they are is the one option we would rule out: today the visitor is forwarded and then shown an error, which is the same dead end with an extra step in front of it.

Where to change it

Decide where each should go — or whether it should go at all

SiteVisitor arrives atWas meant to reach
DairyTech · dairytechexpo.com/exhibit/sectors/equipment-and-technologies-for-meat-processing/sectors/equipment-and-technologies-for-meat-processing

YugAgro · yugagroexpo.com/articles/yug-agro-2021-will-take-place-as-planned/articles/yug-agro-2025-will-take-place-as-planned

DairyTech — meat processing. There is no meat-processing sector page on the site, though an article announces the sector for 2025. Three ways to go: point it at that announcement, /articles/new-exhibition-sector-equipment-and-technologies-for-meat-processing-at-dairytech-2025/; point it at the sector index, /sectors/; or publish the sector page itself, in which case the rule already names the right address and needs no change at all.

DairyTech — marking equipment, and there are two of these. No marking-equipment sector exists on the site. The nearest live sector is /sectors/quality-audit-equipment/, which is only right if marking genuinely sits under it — otherwise the sector index or deletion. Separately: there are two identical records for this same address. One of them should be deleted whatever you decide about the destination.

MosBuild — panels, mouldings and stucco. No single live sector covers it. The two candidates are /sectors/kraski-i-dekorativnye-shtukaturki/ (paints and decorative plasters) and /sectors/stroitelnye-materialy/ (building materials). Both are live; neither is an exact match.

YugAgro — a 2021 notice pointing at a 2025 one. The rule sends a 2021 “will take place as planned” article to a 2025 version that was never published. It reads like a 2021→2025 find-and-replace that ran across the site and caught a destination whose new target did not exist yet. Options: point it at the 2021 article it replaced, if that page should stay reachable; point it at /articles/; or delete it, since a five-year-old “will take place” notice may not be worth keeping. Worth a look at whether the same edit caught other records on that site.

What we need from you. One line per row — the address to use, or “delete it”. We will make the changes with the rest.

One rule sends visitors to an exhibitor catalogue we cannot reach

We need a decision 1 record · MosBuild

Why it matters

The MosBuild exhibitor list forwards to the ITE exhibitor catalogue on another domain. That catalogue refused our request — both as a plain automated check and as a normal browser would appear — so we cannot tell whether the listing is still there.

A refusal like that has two very different causes. It can mean the listing has been taken down, in which case the rule is sending exhibitors and visitors to a dead end. Or it can mean the catalogue blocks traffic from outside Russia, in which case the link works perfectly for the people who actually use it and there is nothing to fix.

We cannot tell the two apart from here, which is why this is the one item on the list where we are asking you to look rather than telling you what we found.

Where to change it

Open the catalogue in a browser, then tell us whether to keep or change it

SiteVisitor arrives atCurrently sent toWhat we get
MosBuild · mosbuildexpo.com/exhibitor-list/catalogue.ite-expo.ru/en-GB/exhibitorlist.aspx?project_id=538Refused — 403

What we need from you. Open that address in a browser from your side and tell us what you see. If the exhibitor list loads, we will leave the rule alone and note it as a false alarm. If it does not, tell us where the current exhibitor list lives and we will repoint it.

Please do not change it before checking. This is the only one of the fifteen we have not been able to confirm is broken. Repointing a rule that is working would take a live link away from the people using it.

If you have time

Worth doing, not urgent

None of these is a problem. They are the difference between a site that is correct and one that is polished.

One domain forwards every address to a single article

toolmashexpo.com no longer serves a site. Every address on it — the homepage and anything typed after it — forwards to the Fastenex article announcing that ToolMash has been integrated into Fastenex. That looks deliberate and it is working, so nothing needs doing. It is worth recording for one reason: the five forwarding rules still stored against that site cannot be checked while the domain behaves this way, because every address on it succeeds regardless of what the rule says. If ToolMash is ever unparked, those five need looking at before it goes live.

Five sites have no forwarding rules at all

Nothing to check on those, and nothing wrong with it — a site that has never renamed a page does not need any. Worth knowing only so that “no findings” on those five is read as an empty list rather than as a clean bill of health.

Where the fifteen sit

DairyTech carries five of them, MosBuild’s Russian site four, MosBuild two and World Food two, with one each on Analitika and YugAgro. The other sixteen sites with forwarding rules came back clean. DairyTech and the two MosBuild sites between them hold 169 of the 273 rules, so a higher share of the problems there is expected rather than a sign those sites are worse maintained.

What happens now

Apply the five typos

They are five pastes into five fields and they need nothing from us. The correct page is live in every case and we have given you the exact value to use. Remember to publish each record, and expect the change to appear with that site’s next release rather than immediately.

Answer the ten that need a decision

Four sector renames to confirm, five rules with nowhere obvious to point, and one catalogue link to open in a browser. Reply to this report with a line against each and we will make the changes for you — none of them needs to come back to you twice.

One to check while you are there

The YugAgro record looks like the tail end of a find-and-replace that swapped 2021 for 2025 across the site. It is worth a quick look at whether the same edit caught anything else on that site — a wrong year inside a link is invisible until somebody clicks it.

We re-run the check

Every forwarding rule on every site is now checked as part of each review, so this list will be re-measured and sent back to you as a short before-and-after once your changes are live. No need to tell us when — just say the word.

This report covers every site together rather than one at a time. On 21 August 2026 we took all 273 forwarding rules stored across the 22 sites that have any, worked out the exact address each one sends a visitor to, and requested that address on the live site — following the forwarding the whole way and recording where the visitor ends up. 258 of them land on a working page. The 15 above do not, and they sit on 6 sites. Every suggested replacement in this report was requested the same way and loaded normally, and every dead destination was re-checked by hand afterwards as a normal browser would. Nothing here is carried across from a scan unchecked. One item — the MosBuild exhibitor catalogue — is a question rather than a finding, because the site it points at refuses our requests and we could not confirm either way.
