19 pages are sharing one sentence

Google shows a short description under every link. When a page has none of its own, the site falls back to the home page’s. Right now 19 different pages are all advertising the same sentence about the fastener industry — including Why Visit, the conference programme, the media gallery and both report pages. Three more show nothing but the word “Fastenex”.

Seven links on the site lead nowhere

Fix in Strapi 7 links · 4 pages

Why it matters

Along with the wrong dates below, these are the only items in this report a visitor actually hits today. Four of the seven are on Plan Your Travel — the page that exists specifically to help someone book a hotel for the show. Somebody deciding where to stay clicks “Book your Stay” and gets an error page.

We opened every one of them by hand on 19 August, as an ordinary browser rather than as a scanner, because automated checks report false alarms on hotel and airline sites. These seven are genuinely dead: some return an error, and three no longer have a website at all.

Every one is an address typed into a field in Strapi. None of them needs a developer.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page record → the address field on each link or button

PageThe linkWhat happens today
/plan-your-travel/Ibis Moscow Kievskaya 3* — “Book your Stay”That website no longer exists
/plan-your-travel/Novotel Moscow Kievskaya 4* — “Book your Stay”That website no longer exists
/plan-your-travel/Edge Seligerskaya-Moscow — “Book your Stay”Page not found
/plan-your-travel/Hotel SeverCity 3* — “Book your Stay”The page has been permanently removed
/about-ite/Woodex — “Visit Website”The address has a typo, so it reaches nothing
/why-visit/“Explore Conference Programme”That page no longer exists on the Weldex site
/articles/threaded-for-strength-innovations-in-industrial-fasteners/The “titanium alloys” PDF linkThe document has been taken down

The Woodex one is a single missing letter. The address currently reads woodexpo.com, which does not exist. The real ITE site is woodexexpo.com — one extra “ex”. We checked it on 19 August and it loads normally. That is the whole fix.

The Hotel SeverCity card points at two different hotels. Its “Book your Stay” goes to an Accor booking page, and its “View Location” opens the map pin for the Ibis on Kievskaya — the same pin as the Ibis card higher up the page, and nowhere near SeverCity. Both buttons on that card need replacing with SeverCity’s own address and map, not just the dead one.

Hilton and Radisson are almost certainly fine. Both refuse automated checks, which is normal bot protection on hotel-chain sites rather than a dead page. Worth one click each to confirm, and no change if they open.

Nine article citations point at one site that is down. They all go to metalinfo.ru, and that site’s own home page is down too — so this is one website having a bad week, not nine broken references. We would re-check in a week rather than rewrite anything now.

2

Four pages give the wrong dates, the wrong year or the wrong event

Fix in Strapi 4 pages

Why it matters

These four tell a visitor something untrue. The show is 6–9 October 2026 at Hall 4, Pavilion 1, Crocus Expo, Moscow, and the header and footer of every page say so correctly. It is the body copy on these four that has been left behind from last year — or, on one page, copied from another ITE show.

None of them needs a developer. Each is a line of text in the page record.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page record → the text block on each page

/event-brochure/Your Roadmap to Fastenex 2025
Your Roadmap to Fastenex 2026

The About page one is the urgent one. It is the sentence that tells an exhibitor when to turn up, and it names a date that has already passed. Anyone reading that page today is being told the show was in October 2025.

Check the brochure before changing the last row. The /event-brochure/ page invites people to download “the official brochure … for this year’s show”, and the heading underneath says Fastenex 2025. If the file behind that button really is the 2025 brochure, the file is what needs replacing, not the heading. If it is already the 2026 brochure, change the heading.

Verified. All four were read off the live pages on 19 August. Mentions of Weldex elsewhere on the site are correct — Fastenex is co-located with it — so /free-promo/ is the one place the name is wrong.

3

Write the titles and descriptions for 20 pages

Fix in Strapi 20 pages

Why it matters

The title is the blue clickable line in a Google result. The description is the grey text underneath it. Together they are the whole of what someone sees before deciding whether to click you or a competitor.

When those two fields are left empty the site falls back to something else — the page’s internal working name for the title, and the home page’s sentence for the description. That is why five titles currently begin “Form -”, and why 19 pages are all advertising the same sentence about the fastener industry, including the page about visiting and the page about the conference.

Both fields are on the same screen in Strapi, so this is one visit per page rather than two. The wording below is a starting point — please read it over and change anything that does not sound like you.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page record → SEO → Meta Title and Meta Description

Join the leading fastener industry trade show showcasing the latest innovations, technology, and products.Currently showing on 19 pages. It is correct for the home page — leave it there, and give the other 17 one of their own. Three gallery pages show only the word “Fastenex”, which is too short for Google to use.

Five of these are the “Form -” titles. Why Russia Report, Why India × Russia, Beyond the Surface and the two thank-you pages currently show their internal working name — Form - Why Russia Report, Form - Beyond the surface and so on. That is what appears in the browser tab and in Google today. Filling in the Meta Title field replaces it.

Decide the two thank-you pages before you write them. They are the last two rows, and they are 97% identical to each other. Thank-you pages normally should not be in Google at all — anyone arriving on one from a search has skipped the form and sees a thank-you for something they never requested. Say the word and we will hide both from Google, and you can skip those two rows entirely. If you would rather keep them listed, the suggested wording is there.

One small thing while you are in there. The Exhibitor Resource Centre title currently has a stray space on the end of it. The suggested title above replaces it, so filling the field clears that too.

Two article titles are too long to fit in a Google result

Fix in Strapi 2 pages

Why it matters

Google shows roughly the first 60 characters of a title and cuts the rest. The first of these two is 125 characters, so more than half of it never appears — a reader sees the title stop mid-sentence and has to guess what the article is about.

Changing the Meta Title does not change the headline on the page itself. The article can keep its full headline and still show a shorter, complete title in search results.

Where to change it

Strapi → the article record → SEO → Meta Title

ArticleLength nowSuggested title
/articles/russian-markets-of-fasteners-tools-assembly-and-installation-systems-fittings-new-growth-points-and-development-prospects-1/125 characters

Fifteen more headlines are long but harmless. They read fine on the page and only their tail is trimmed in search. They are listed under the optional items below — worth doing if you are editing the article anyway, not worth a special pass.

5

Replace the eleven sector photos with smaller files

Fix in Strapi 124 images · 29 MB

Why it matters

Every visitor downloads these at full size, including on a phone using mobile data. They are the single biggest thing slowing the site down, and page speed is one of the things Google weighs when it decides where to rank you.

The eleven sector photos are the ones worth your time. Each one appears on seven or eight different pages — the home page, About Fastenex, Sectors, Why Exhibit, Indian Exhibitors and its own sector page among them — so replacing eleven files takes about 5.6 MB off eighteen pages at once.

The site cannot shrink them automatically. A smaller file has to be uploaded over the current one, which keeps it in place everywhere it is used.

Where to change it

Strapi → Media Library → replace the file on the existing entry

151 kBspringsSprings

What to aim for. Under 200 kB each. Save as WebP at roughly 1600 pixels wide, quality 80 — nothing on the site ever displays these larger than that, so nobody will see a difference.

Then the eleven biggest single-page photos. Trans_Russia_Previous_Exhibitors_1 894 kB, on Plan Your Travel · Glazkova_Nataliya 868 kB, a speaker portrait on the Exhibitor Resource Centre — this one looks like an un-resized camera original · 1 685 kB on Why Visit · 3 615 kB, 4 597 kB and 5 531 kB, all three on the home page · Fastenex 529 kB on Insights & Resources · 0002_3 523 kB on the Visa page · Fastenex_Why_Exhibit 482 kB on Why Exhibit · Wl_badge_eng 391 kB on LeadScanning · QR_WL_page_LS 343 kB on Fastenex Connect.

And the five sector-page banners. Five files named Untitled_design_2025_10_2…, between 307 kB and 509 kB, one each on the Springs, Equipment, Fastener Production Equipment, Information Technology and Industrial Fasteners sector pages.

One logo is on 36 pages. Fastenex_25_CFM_Logo is 140 kB and appears on 36 pages. It is a logo, not a photograph — it should be nearer 15 kB, and shrinking it is the cheapest single improvement on this list.

The picture overall. 124 images on the site are over 100 kB, 29 MB between them. The heaviest pages are the home page (8.0 MB of oversized images), About Fastenex (6.6 MB), Why Exhibit (6.6 MB), Indian Exhibitors (6.1 MB) and Sectors (5.7 MB) — and they are heavy largely because of the same eleven sector photos. The full list of 124 is available on request.

6

The “Download the app” button on the home page goes nowhere

Fix in Strapi 1 page

Why it matters

In the Fastenex Connect section of the home page there is a prominent red button reading “Download the app”. Clicking it does nothing at all — the page simply stays where it is.

The button’s address field currently contains a single # character. That is a placeholder meaning “stay on this page”, and it is what the button is faithfully doing. The button’s text is filled in correctly, which is why the problem is invisible until somebody clicks.

Putting a real address in that field is the whole fix, and it goes live when you publish.

Where to change it

Strapi → Home page → Connect Section → the button’s LinkTo field

What to put in it. The app’s store listing if there is one, or the Fastenex Connect page at /connect/ if the app is not ready yet. If the app is not launching this year, changing the button text is the honest option — the section reads well without a download button.

It is the only one. We checked every button on all 120 pages. This is the only one on the site with a placeholder address in it.

7

Two pages use the largest heading style twice

Fix in Strapi 2 pages

Why it matters

On the Why Russia Report and Why India × Russia pages, the line “Download this report to understand:” was typed using the Heading 1 style in the text editor.

Heading 1 is meant for the page’s own main title and nothing else — it is how a search engine works out what a page is about. Using it twice gives the page two competing answers to that question.

Change that one line from Heading 1 to Heading 2 on each page. Nothing about how it looks needs to change, and the rest of the page is untouched.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page record → the text block → change the heading style on that line

A demo copy of the Partners page is public and in Google

We need a decision Decision

Why it matters

There is a second, near-identical version of your Partners and Sponsors page at /partners-sponsors-demo/. It is not linked from any menu, but it is public, it is listed for Google, and its title reads “Partners & Sponsors (Demo)”.

Two pages saying the same thing compete with each other in search, and neither wins outright. It also means a customer can land on a page labelled “Demo”.

Where to change it

Tell us to delete it, or delete it yourself in Strapi

What we need from you. If it was a working copy you no longer need, deleting the record in Strapi is the cleanest fix and takes a moment. If it is being kept for a reason, tell us and we will hide it from Google instead.

The other one is ours. There is a second internal page, /components/, which is a design reference showing every building block used on the site — it still has placeholder “Lorem Ipsum” text on it, and at 9.6 MB of images it is the heaviest page on the whole site. That one is not a Strapi record and is not yours to remove. We are taking it out of the site’s index ourselves; it is listed in the section below.

9

The “View All” exhibitor list button may be blocked outside Russia

We need a decision Decision

Why it matters

Eight links across four pages point at the ITE exhibitor catalogue, including the “View All” button on the home page. We tried them repeatedly on 19 August and every attempt was refused before the page even loaded.

The whole catalogue site behaves the same way from here, not just those pages — so it is either blocking visitors from outside Russia, or it is refusing everyone. We cannot tell which from where we are.

It matters because Fastenex sells to international exhibitors. If it is a country block, every overseas visitor who clicks that button is turned away.

Where to change it

Try the link from your own office, then tell us what you see

What we need from you. Open the exhibitor catalogue link on the home page from your own office and tell us whether it loads. If it does, it is a regional restriction and we will leave the buttons alone. If it does not, it needs raising with whoever runs the catalogue — that is an ITE system, not part of your website.

10

Your pop-up tool is loading on every page and doing nothing

We need a decision Decision · 120 pages

Why it matters

Every page on the site loads a script from OptinMonster, the pop-up and email-capture tool. On all 120 of them it fails, because fastenexexpo.com is not registered as a site in the OptinMonster account.

We checked it directly on 19 August and the answer that comes back is “The referrer site could not be found. It may not have been registered with OptinMonster.”

Nothing is visibly broken — visitors see nothing and no pop-ups appear. But every page downloads and runs the script before discovering it has nothing to do, which is pure weight on every page load. And if anyone has been building campaigns in that account expecting them to run here, they have not been running.

Where to change it

Register the domain in OptinMonster, or tell us to remove the script

What we need from you. Either add fastenexexpo.com to the OptinMonster account so the campaigns can run, or tell us the tool is no longer used and we will take the script off the site. Both are quick; the only wrong answer is leaving it as it is.

Worth raising with whoever owns the account. The same script sits on the other ITE sites we look after, and we have seen the same refusal on at least one of them. Whoever manages the OptinMonster account may want to check which domains are registered on it at all.

If you have time

Worth doing, not urgent

None of these is a problem. They are the difference between a site that is correct and one that is polished.

25 page titles are quite short

Why Visit?, Media Gallery, Connect. Google gives you roughly 60 characters and these use a quarter of it. The suggestions in item 3 cover most of them; the rest are fine as they are.

15 more article headlines run over 70 characters

They read well on the page and only lose their tail in search results. Worth shortening the Meta Title if you happen to be editing the article anyway — not worth a pass of their own.

20 pages have a Google title identical to the heading on the page

Not a problem in itself. But the title is a second chance to say something the heading does not — the city, the dates, or simply “2026”. Someone scanning ten search results reads the title, not the page.

Six descriptions run a few characters long

156 to 160 characters against a 155 guideline. Google trims the last word or two and shows an ellipsis. Only worth editing if you are in the record for another reason.

Three articles have no subheadings

Breaking a long article up makes it easier to read and gives search engines more to work with. Editorial judgement — your call which articles need it.

On our side

What we are already fixing

No action needed from your team

What happens now

Start with the links and the dates

The seven dead links and the four wrong dates are the only things in this report a visitor runs into today — and four of the seven are on the page where people book their hotel. Eleven small edits, an hour at most, and both stop being true.

Then the titles and descriptions

Twenty pages, both fields on the same screen in Strapi, wording written out ready to paste. This is the bulk of the half day and the bulk of the search value. After that the items are in priority order, and every one of them can be made in Strapi and goes live when you publish — none need a deploy from us.

Answer the three decisions

Whether the demo Partners page can be deleted, whether the exhibitor catalogue link opens from your office, and whether the pop-up tool stays. There is a fourth, smaller one inside item 3: tell us if you would rather the two thank-you pages were hidden from Google, and you can skip writing them.

We re-run the check

Once you have published your changes we run the same review again and send you a short before-and-after. No need to tell us when — just say the word.

Every item in this report was checked by hand against the live site on 19 August 2026, across all 120 pages listed in your sitemap. Each of the seven dead links was opened individually in a normal browser, because automated checks report false alarms on hotel and airline sites — two links our scan called broken turned out to be fine and are not listed here, and neither is a page it reported as crashing, which we loaded six times without a failure. Each page was loaded once, so this review found what it found; it is not a guarantee that nothing else is wrong. Suggested wording is a starting point: please read it over before publishing, and change anything that does not match how you talk about the event.
