Three articles moved to new addresses and their old addresses now show “page not found”

Fix in Strapi 3 articles · 11 links

Why it matters

These three articles were republished under a new web address. The old address now shows “page not found” and nothing forwards visitors to the new one, so anyone arriving from Google, a bookmark or a link on another site lands on an error page. This is new since 25 August.

Two of the articles make it worse. Each has a Canonical URL — a note, invisible to visitors, that tells Google “the official copy of this page is at this address” — and on both it still holds the old, dead address. Google is being told the article lives on an error page. Clear the field and the site fills in the article’s own address by itself.

Add a Redirects entry from each old address to the current one. The “Emerging Trends” article is linked from 11 other articles and every one of those links now leads to the error page; the redirect fixes all of them at once.

Where to change it

Write the redirects the way the others are written. Enter the Source and Destination in the same form as the existing records in the Redirects list.

The 11 articles that link to the old Emerging Trends address. Once the redirect is in, nothing more is needed. If you are editing them anyway, point the link straight at the new address: DairyTech 2024: what it was like to attend (“trends in the dairy industry”); Streamlining Milk Production with High-Performance Processing Lines (“dairy processing trends”); Vertical Farming and Its Potential Role in Future Dairy Feed Production (“dairy processing trends”); UAE’s Cold Chain Revolution… (“emerging trends reshaping the dairy industry”); Upgrading Your Dairy Plant… (“emerging trends reshaping the dairy industry”); Ensuring Food Safety: Ireland’s Adoption of Modern Traceability Systems (“emerging trends reshaping the dairy industry”); Natural vs Synthetic: Choosing the Right Ingredients for Dairy Drinks (“emerging trend in dairy processing”); Netherlands Leads in Dairy Innovation… (“emerging trend in dairy processing”); Dairy industry leaders at DairyTech (“recent trends in dairy industry”); What do the participants say about the DairyTech 2023 exhibition (“new innovations in dairy industry”); How Automated Labelling Machines Improve Efficiency in Dairy Production (“dairy industry trends”).

One link on the labelling article looks misplaced. The same article also has a link on the words DairyTech Expo enquiry, which probably belongs on the exhibiting enquiry page rather than on this article.

Six pages tell Google their real address is somewhere else

Fix in Strapi 6 pages

Why it matters

This was in the 25 August report and is still open. Every page can carry a canonical address — a line, invisible to visitors, that tells Google “this is the official copy of this page; list that address, not this one”. It is meant for the rare case where one page exists at two addresses. On these six records the field still holds the address the page had before the site was restructured.

Each of those old addresses now only forwards back to the page itself. So the page says “my official copy is over there”, and over there says “no, it is back where you came from” — a loop, and a reason for Google to drop the page from its results. Four of the six are sector pages.

Clear the field on each of the six records and leave it empty: the site then fills in the page’s own address automatically.

Where to change it

Old sector addresses still end on “page not found”

Fix in Strapi 17 forwards · 5 article links

Why it matters

This was in the 25 August report and has not changed. The Redirects list catches a visitor who arrives at an address the site used to have — from an old bookmark, a partner’s website or a Google listing that has not caught up — and sends them to the page that replaced it. Three of its entries send them to sector addresses that no longer exist, and a fourth, dairytech-sector-9, forwards to an old address that has neither a page nor a forward of its own.

The fourteen numbered records — dairytech-sector-1 to dairytech-sector-14 — each forward to a second old address, which then forwards again, so the visitor is bounced twice before the page appears. Four of them end on “page not found”: sector-4, sector-6, sector-9 and sector-14. Search engines follow a double forward reluctantly and give the page less credit for it. Point each of the fourteen straight at its final page, the one its second forward currently lands on. Five meat-processing articles link to the sector-14 address, so fixing that one record repairs all five.

Where to change it

Strapi → Redirects → the records named below → Destination

Redirect (Source)Destination currentlyChange the Destination to
exhibit/sectors/cooling-and-freezing-equipment/sectors/cooling-and-freezing-equipment/ — page not found
/sectors/freezing-equipment/

exhibit/sectors/dairytech-sector-6A second old address, then page not found
/sectors/ready-packaging-and-labels/
exhibit/sectors/dairytech-sector-14A second old address, then page not found
/about-meatprocessing/

The marking-equipment one is a judgement. There is no marking-equipment sector any more. Ready-made packaging and labels is the closest match we can see; if you know a better home for it, use that — the same choice then applies to sector-6. Either is better than “page not found”.

Start with the seven in the table. They are the ones that end on an error page. The other ten numbered records already reach the right page and can follow when you are next in the list.

Six pages are open to Google that should not be

Fix in Strapi 6 pages

Why it matters

Two are internal pages: the reference page of design samples the site was built from, still carrying Lorem ipsum — the Latin filler a layout uses before the real words arrive — and a demo copy of the Partners and Sponsors page that duplicates the real one. The other four are the thank-you screens a form shows after it is sent; the Why Russia one is new since 25 August. All are public and can be found and read by anyone.

Unpublishing removes a page from the site and the sitemap in one step. Where a page has to stay, ticking noIndex in its SEO settings tells Google not to list it and drops it from the sitemap automatically. Neither needs a developer.

Four pages have a wrong, duplicated or too-long title or description

Fix in Strapi 4 pages

Why it matters

The title is the blue clickable line in a Google result; the description is the grey text under it. On four pages they are wrong in ways Google can see.

The Freezing equipment sector page carries the marking-equipment sector’s SEO block: its title is “Dairy Marking Equipment Exhibition | Coding & Traceability” and its description talks about marking, on a page about refrigeration. The two Matchmaking pages are different pages — one explains matchmaking to visitors, the other to exhibitors — but share a title, a heading and a description, so Google sees a duplicate and shows one of them. And the homepage description is 158 characters, so Google cuts it off.

The suggested wording below is a starting point. Please read each one before you use it.

The two Matchmaking pages also share a heading. Their headings are identical as well; the table fixes the title and description, and a different heading on each is worth a look when you are in those records.

Seven page titles are still working labels

Fix in Strapi 7 pages

Why it matters

These pages carry the short label they were built under, which says little to someone scanning Google results and mostly does not mention DairyTech or the year. One is only in Chinese characters with no event name.

The suggested titles are a starting point. Please read them over before publishing.

12 pages need a description of their own

Fix in Strapi 3 pages · 9 galleries

Why it matters

The description is the grey text under your link in a Google result. It is the sentence that decides whether somebody clicks you or a competitor. 80 pages currently have none, and since 25 August they no longer borrow the homepage’s sentence. Of those 80, 34 fix themselves once our change below is live (22 articles and 12 galleries), and the 34 partner pages are optional. That leaves these 12 for you.

On a gallery, the Description field is the right place: whatever you type there is what the page uses. Nine galleries have it empty — the DairyTech Business Programme galleries for 2019 to 2023 (five), the Exhibition galleries for 2022 and 2023, and the Award galleries for 2023 and 2024.

The suggested wording is a starting point. Please read each one before you use it.

Eight pages have two main headings

Fix in Strapi 8 pages

Why it matters

This was in the 25 August report and is still open. A page should have exactly one main heading — its title — and search engines read the rest of the page as an outline underneath it. On these eight pages a line in the body text was set to the editor’s Heading 1 style, so the page has two main headings; on the exhibitors’ Matchmaking page, six, because four bullet points were pasted in from Word as Heading 1.

Select each line and change it to Heading 2. For the four Matchmaking bullets, re-paste them as a normal bulleted list. Nothing else about the page changes.

This was in the 25 August report and is still open. The footer of every page ends “Organised By DairyTech 2025. All Right Reserved” — a year out of date, and it should read Rights. The Chinese-language homepage (/cn/) still says “DairyTech 2025” in five places. The Lead Scanning page still carries the invitation to a training session on 12 December 2025. Two buttons are clickable but go nowhere

Fix in Strapi 2 buttons · 2 pages

Why it matters

This was in the 25 August report and is still open. The Book A Booth button in the article “New exhibition sector: Equipment and Technologies for Meat Processing at DairyTech 2025” and the Book Your Stand button on the milk-processing sector page both have a single # character in their link field — a placeholder somebody typed to fill the box. These point at other organisations’ websites, and the pages behind them have been removed. Three are hotel booking buttons on Plan Your Travel, which is the page a visitor reads while planning a trip; one is a partner’s Visit Site button; three are a file or a page that older articles link to.

The FoodTech logo in the top bar has no description

Fix in Strapi 1 image · every page

Why it matters

Alternative text is a short written description of a picture. A screen reader reads it aloud to a blind visitor, and Google uses it to understand the image. When the picture is also a link, it is the only name the link has. The FoodTech logo in the top bar of every page has none, so the link is announced as just “link”.

The pop-up tool does not work on this address

We need a decision Decision · 216 pages

Why it matters

Every page on the site loads a pop-up tool — the kind used for newsletter sign-up boxes and exit-intent offers. On this site it fails on every page: the account the tool belongs to does not have dairytechexpo.com registered, so the tool’s service answers that the site could not be found.

If the pop-ups are wanted, the address needs registering in that account. If not, we remove the tool and the failed request goes with it.

Where to change it

What we need from you. Tell us whether the pop-ups are wanted. If you would rather leave it as it is, no action is needed and we will leave it.

If you have time

Worth doing, not urgent

None of these is a problem. They are the difference between a site that is correct and one that is polished.

Event details for Google

A site can hand Google a short machine-readable summary of the event — its dates, venue and organiser — which is what lets a search result show the dates under your link. DairyTech still has none. Ask us for an Event block to paste into the homepage’s SEO → JSON_LD field; one block covers the whole site.

309 images are heavier than 100 kB

309 images weigh 65.5 MB between them. Every visitor downloads them at full size, and Google counts page speed when it decides where to rank you. Re-save them in the Media Library before uploading; aim for under 200 kB. The biggest are a 2.5 MB photograph on the Articles page and the CIP/hygiene article, four 2.2–2.4 MB show photographs on the ice-cream, milk-processing and cleaning sector pages, Why Exhibit and Why Exhibit India, a 1.2 MB image on /cn/, two 750 kB photographs on the homepage and an 888 kB ice-cream photograph on three articles.

21 of the 52 partner pages are not linked from anywhere

The Partners and Sponsors page shows 31 of them. The other 21 are published but nothing links to them. Add the current partners to the Partners and Sponsors page, or unpublish the ones that are no longer partners.

Partner pages have a bare name as their title and little text

All 52 partner pages use only the partner’s name as their title — ABCR, SPPI, Emeat — and 34 have no description of their own. A title such as “Emeat | Media Partner of DairyTech” and a one-line description of who the partner is would improve both. Nothing is broken.

9 article titles are cut off in Google

Google shows roughly the first 60 characters of a title and trims the rest; 9 article titles run past that. Put the point in the first 60 characters of future headlines, or use the article’s separate Meta Title field for a shorter search-only version.

A campaign page that nothing links to

/lp/indian-exhibitors/ is listed for Google but nothing on the site links to it. If it is only for ads or email, tick noIndex on it. If it should be found, link it from Why Exhibit India.

About 40 article links still point at old sector addresses

Links such as “dairy production equipment”, which goes to /exhibit/sector-list/, still work through forwarding, but each costs the reader a step, and a link like “marking equipment” goes to an old address that ends on “page not found”. When you next edit those articles, point them at the current /sectors/… addresses.

On phones, the stand-type cards hide their text until tapped

The Individual Construction, Standard Shell Scheme and Premium Shell Scheme cards on the Exhibitor Resource Centre show their description and the Explore Designs button only when the mouse hovers over them. A phone has no hover, so the text appears only after a tap on the card. It is a design choice and unchanged since 25 August — tell us if you would like the text always visible on phones and we will make the change.

What happens now

Start with the moved articles, the canonical fields and the old sector forwards

Three redirects to add, two canonical fields to clear on those articles, six more canonical fields to empty, and seven Destination fields to change. Together they stop visitors landing on error pages and stop Google dropping your sector pages.

Then the hidden pages, the titles and descriptions, and the out-of-date lines

The six pages to hide are a tick box or an unpublish each; the footer year and the Chinese homepage are quick edits; the two # buttons and the dead links are swaps. The titles and descriptions follow. Apart from the images and the decision, that is roughly a day in Strapi.

Read the suggested wording before you use it

Every title and description we have drafted is a starting point, written from what is on the page, not from your marketing plan. Change anything that does not sound like you.

We re-run the check

Once you have published your changes, we run the same review again and send you a short before-and-after. No need to tell us when — just say the word.

This review was carried out on 5 October 2026, and it had two parts. 216 pages from your sitemap were loaded in a real browser and checked for layout, errors and accessibility, with the internal reference page left out, and a search-engine crawl covered all 217 pages in the sitemap. The phone-sized layout check sampled 81 pages; the mobile menu opened on all 80 of those pages that have one. The accessibility check ran on a sample of pages, so a shared part of the site such as the footer is reported once but applies wherever it appears. The browser check raised 869 individual flags. Each was looked at, and the real problems are in this report; things that turned out to be fine are left out. Each page was loaded once, so this lists what we found, which is not the same as every page being free of problems. Suggested wording is a starting point — please read it over before publishing and change anything that does not sound like you.
