18 pages are sharing one sentence

Google shows a short description under every link. When a page has none of its own, the site falls back to the homepage’s. Right now 18 different pages are all advertising the same sentence about the exhibition — including the contact page, the conference programme, the visa page, the newsletter and the whole articles section. It is correct on the homepage and on nothing else.

The footer’s three legal links go nowhere

Fix in Strapi 3 links · every page

Why it matters

Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy sit in the footer of every page, but none of the three has an address filled in behind it. Clicking them does nothing at all — the page simply stays where it is.

That means a visitor currently has no way to reach the site’s legal documents, which is the kind of gap privacy rules expect to be closed. It is worth doing promptly — and it is quick, because the fix is pasting three addresses into the footer record.

Your ExpoElectronica site’s footer already points these same three entries at the ITE Group policy pages, and we have checked all three load. The simplest fix is to use the same addresses here.

Where to change it

Strapi → Global → Footer → the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy entries

If ExpoCifra should have its own policy pages. Use those instead — the addresses above are simply the ones your sister site already uses, verified working on 24 August.

Nineteen links land on an error page

Fix in Strapi 19 links · 6 pages

Why it matters

Each of these can be clicked today, and each lands the visitor on an error page instead of the page it promises. A dead link costs whatever the click was about to do — an enquiry, a hotel booking, a report download — and search engines quietly mark a site down for them.

Eleven of the nineteen sit in a single article: the 2026 Electronica Prize voting piece links each nominee to a voting page on expoelectronica.ru, and that whole voting section has since been taken down. The vote is long closed, so those links can simply come out — or the article can be unpublished if it has served its purpose.

Every replacement address in the table was opened and checked before we wrote it down.

Not all the old-site links in the photo report are dead. The same article links several other galleries on the old expocifra.com site, and those still work — only the two named above return an error. Moving the rest across to this site’s galleries is still worth it while you are in the article, so readers stay on cifraexpo.com, but nothing else there is broken.

Two we could not judge. The ibis Moscow Kievskaya and Novotel Moscow Kievskaya booking buttons on Plan Your Travel point at moscowcityhotels.com pages that did not answer at all when we requested them. Worth clicking both yourself and updating them if they fail for you too.

The same four hotels are on your ExpoElectronica site. Plan Your Travel on electronicaexpo.com carries the same hotel list with the same two dead buttons and the same two silent ones — its report lists them too. The two sites have separate records in Strapi, so the edit needs making in both places.

One more link worth cleaning while you are in there. In the article Health-Tech Revolution: Medical Electronics and Telemedicine in the Age of Connectivity, the “ExpoCifra exhibit enquiry” link works but carries a tracking tag pasted in from a chat tool: ?utm_source=chatgpt.com. Replace the address with the clean /exhibiting-enquiry/ — it looks tidier in analytics and stops search engines seeing a second copy of the page.

Verified. Every address in the table was requested individually on 24 August: the middle column returns an error, and every replacement we suggest loads normally.

3

The three footer buttons take a detour on every click

Fix in Strapi 3 links · every page

Why it matters

Download Event Brochure, Become an Exhibitor and Visitor Registration in the footer are written without the final “/” — /event-brochure rather than /event-brochure/. Nothing looks wrong, but the site has to forward every click on to the “/” version, which adds a step before the page appears — and the footer is on every page.

Search engines also treat a link that has to be forwarded as worth slightly less than one that goes straight there, and these three point at your registration and enquiry pages.

The fix is one character per link: add the trailing slash.

Where to change it

Strapi → Global → Footer → the Quick Links column

Link textCurrentlyChange it to
Become an Exhibitor/exhibiting-enquiry
/exhibiting-enquiry/
Visitor Registration/visitor-registration
/visitor-registration/
Download Event Brochure/event-brochure
/event-brochure/

Verified. All three were requested on 24 August and each answers with a forward to its “/” version rather than the page itself. The same slip exists in the ExpoElectronica footer — its report covers it.

4

One article is published twice, and two titles are shared

Fix in Strapi 4 records

Why it matters

The EdTech article exists as two published copies of the same piece — same headline, same text — at two addresses that differ only by a “-1” on the end, which is what Strapi adds when a record is duplicated rather than edited. Google has to pick one to show and splits the credit between them.

Separately, two pairs of different articles share one search title. The title is the blue clickable line in a Google result — when two different articles carry the same one, they look like the same story twice and compete with each other.

And one Media Gallery record is mislabelled: the gallery at /media-gallery/expo-cifra-media-1/ is titled “Conference program 2024”, which looks like a leftover from an earlier record.

Where to change it

27 pages need a description of their own

Fix in Strapi 27 pages

Why it matters

The description is the grey text under your link in a Google result. It is the sentence that decides whether somebody clicks you or a competitor, and it is the only part of a search result you write yourself.

17 pages have none, so they fall back to the homepage’s sentence — somebody searching for visa information or the conference programme currently reads a line that mentions neither. Another 10 media-gallery pages do have a description, but it is the single word ExpoCifra (or expocifra), which gives a searcher nothing to go on.

The suggested wording below is a starting point, not a decision about how you want to sound. Please read each one before you use it.

Where to change it

The 10 gallery pages follow a pattern. The year-by-year galleries can all use the same shape: Photo highlights from ExpoCifra 2026 — the exhibition floor, stands and visitors. Change the year and the subject to match each record.

Two of the 17 need no copy at all. The two demo pages being unpublished below — /components/ and /partners-sponsors-demo/ — are in the count too. Once they are unpublished, they take care of themselves.

The full list is available on request. The ten above are the pages most worth doing first. Ask and we will send the complete page-by-page list of the rest.

Two demo pages are live and listed in Google

Fix in Strapi 2 pages

Why it matters

These are reference pages built while the site was being constructed. Both are published, both are in the sitemap — the file that invites Google to index a page — and both can be found and read by anyone.

The first is a page of design samples still carrying blocks of Lorem ipsum, the Latin filler text a layout uses before the real words arrive; the second is titled Partners & Sponsors (Demo) and is an early copy of the real Partners & Sponsors page.

Unpublishing removes each one from the site and the sitemap in a single step. If one has to stay published for internal reference, ticking noIndex in its SEO section tells Google not to list it instead.

Where to change it

Strapi → the page record → unpublish

PageWhat it is
/components/A reference page of design samples, still full of Lorem ipsum placeholder text.
/partners-sponsors-demo/Partners & Sponsors (Demo) — an early copy of the real Partners & Sponsors page.

Or delete them. If neither page is used any more they can be removed outright rather than hidden. Tell us and we will take them down. The same two pages are live on ExpoElectronica — its report lists them as well.

1,032 images are heavier than they need to be

Fix in Strapi 1,032 images · 246 MB

Why it matters

More than half the images on the site are heavier than 100 kB — 246 MB between them. Every visitor downloads these at full size, including anyone on a phone on mobile data, and Google counts page speed when it decides where to rank you.

The largest single file is a 4.8 MB stock photograph used on three pages, and several of the stock uploads on the homepage itself run between 1.8 and 4.8 MB each — so the heaviest images sit on your most-visited page. The photo galleries add the bulk: some carry between 67 and 204 large photographs on one page.

The site cannot shrink these by itself, so this is a re-upload in the Media Library rather than anything a developer can do. A free online tool such as tinypng.com or squoosh.app does it well: aim for under about 200 kB for a large photograph, and much less for a logo.

Where to change it

Strapi → Media Library → re-upload a smaller version of the file

Start with the stock photos. The shutterstock uploads are the best value for the effort: several are 1–5 MB and appear on more than one page, so compressing each once improves every page it sits on — the homepage first among them.

Then make it a habit. A minute spent compressing each new image before it goes into Strapi keeps the problem from growing back. The full list of the 1,032 files is available on request.

8

The pop-up tool has never worked on this address

We need a decision Decision

Why it matters

Every page on the site loads a pop-up tool — the kind used for newsletter sign-up boxes and exit-intent offers. On this site it has never displayed anything, because cifraexpo.com is not registered against the account the tool belongs to: on every page load the tool’s service answers that the site is unknown, and the request fails.

Visitors see nothing either way; there is no broken box on screen. The cost is a little speed on every page and a quiet error in the background — and no pop-ups, if pop-ups were the plan.

The choice is a business one, not a technical one. If the pop-ups are wanted, the address needs registering in that account and they will start appearing. If they are not, we remove the tool and every page gets slightly faster.

Where to change it

Tell us to register the domain or to remove the tool

What we need from you. Whether the pop-ups are still part of the plan. If yes, someone with access to that account registers cifraexpo.com and we check it starts working. If no, we take the tool out — that is a change on our side and needs nothing from your team.

It is the same on your other sites. The same tool is loaded, and equally inactive, across the other ITE sites we look after. Whichever way this goes it is worth settling once for all of them rather than site by site.

If you have time

Worth doing, not urgent

None of these is a problem. They are the difference between a site that is correct and one that is polished.

Two small gaps in the event data Google reads

Unlike most of the sites, ExpoCifra already sends Google a machine-readable summary of the event — dates, venue, organiser — which is what lets a search result show rich details. It is missing just two things: the registration link and the venue postcode. Both live in the same Strapi block the rest of the summary comes from; add them and the warnings in Google’s testing tools clear. Tell us if you would like pointing at the exact fields.

About 1,500 images have no written description

Every image can carry a short line of alternative text — read aloud to visitors using a screen reader, shown if the image fails to load, and the only thing Google has to go on in image search. A big job, so do it gradually: start with the homepage and sector pages, and add a line to new uploads as a habit.

41 article headlines are cut off in Google

Google shows roughly the first 60 characters of a title and trims the rest mid-sentence — several of the government-official headlines run past 150 characters. When writing future headlines, put the point in the first 60 characters; each article also has a separate Meta Title field if you want a search-only short version.

26 page titles are very short

Visa, Connect, Articles. Google gives you roughly 60 characters and these use a fraction of it. Visa Information | ExpoCifra works harder than Visa, and costs nothing to change.

23 descriptions run a few characters long

Slightly over the ~155-character guideline, so Google trims the last word or two into an ellipsis. Only worth editing if you are in the record for another reason anyway.

A proofread of the most-visited pages

The crawler flagged possible spelling errors on most pages; on inspection they are overwhelmingly brand names and transliterations rather than mistakes. Still, a human proofread of the homepage, the sector pages and the newest articles would catch the few real ones.

On our side

What we are already fixing

Found in the same review, but ours to put right rather than yours.

No action needed from your team

On a phone, the homepage’s “A Global Stage for Digital Innovation” introduction stretches wider than the screen, so its text is sliced off at the right edge — the same fault we found on ExpoElectronica. Already repaired on our side for both sites — it goes live with the next site update

What happens now

Start with the footer

The three legal links and the three trailing slashes are six small edits in one Strapi record, and they fix every page on the site at once — the legal links matter for compliance, so they go first.

Then the links and descriptions

The nineteen dead links are mostly quick swaps — eleven of them sit in one old article. The 27 descriptions are the biggest win for how the site looks in search; the ten drafted ones get you started and the galleries follow one pattern.

Read the suggested wording before you use it

Every description we have drafted is a starting point. We wrote them from what is on the page, not from your marketing plan. Change anything that does not sound like you.

Answer the one decision

Whether the pop-up tool stays or goes. It is the same tool sitting inactive on your other sites, so one answer can settle it everywhere. Reply to this report and we will action it.

We re-run the check

Once you have published your changes we run the same review again and send you a short before-and-after. No need to tell us when — just say the word.

Every item in this report was checked by hand against the live site on 24 August 2026. 166 pages were loaded one by one in a real browser, and a separate search-engine crawl fetched 170 addresses, covering all 167 in your sitemap. All 121 article titles were read individually to confirm the shared-title pairs, and every dead link named here was requested one by one, along with each suggested replacement. Findings the scans flagged that turned out to be fine have been left out rather than passed on — including 546 images reported as broken that we confirmed were all loading correctly, and two “dead” external links that open normally for a person in a browser. Each page was loaded once, so this review found what it found; it is not a guarantee that nothing else is wrong. Suggested wording is a starting point: please read it over before publishing, and change anything that does not match how you talk about the event.
